forever. The only way for our farmers to

Dr. fnos. Haim*, commissioned by
tin- State to look alter Ini convicts, was
up on a visit, to the camps oil the Marietta

has given orders tluu in building the
new stockade to be commenced immedi
ately, that each niau have sufficient beds
room, and that a hospital be built sepa
rate from the other apaitments, to he
furnished with matresses, a nets and
quilts, nod that belter care generally be
given to the sick. We are sure this ia n
step iu the right direction, and hope it
will he carried out.

wiss disguised. Their followers did rn.t
sppear to recognize the young men after
nil this, and their coats, hats, samples,
etc., were taken away, Waving thum to

own game, and so ended their experience
as drummers.

On Saturday the 2Hth of Mty next,
will bo let to ihe lowest bidder, before
tho Court House door in the town of
Canton, t hcrokee county, Ga,, between
ilio hours of 111 a. M„ and 2 I*. M., tho
building of two Hoek Pillars at tho for
mer situ of Hawkins' bridge across Little
Uiver.
Also the building of two Hock Pillars
at CheroktH) .Mill-, ut or near tlm place
oTlhe <>M bridge across Lutlo River at
that place. Thesis pillars are to bu of
good rock, faced an l luid in limo and
mortar—first class work, they will be
some 13 feet wide, three feet thick ou
top, and batter one inch iu every foot to
the bottom. Every contractor will be
required to give a bond with two good
securities, in double the amount of his
bid, for iho faithful performance uf his
contract in tho time that may lie agreed
upon. Said work to Ini paid for when
taxes aro collected iu the fall, of the
present year. Said pillars will he let
out at so much per square yard.
