The Athens Banner states that on
Monday afternoon a wild chery tiee in
the front yard of Captain R. Nicker
son, of that city, which was standing

•truck by lightning. The bolt, in its

tered splinters over the yard, some
of which were from one to two yards

were carried over the house. All the
