Onr Cemetery.
In company with Mr. N. M.
Wright we visited the cemetery yes
terday and noticed the verv tasty
manner in which he is fixing up his
! lot. He has hit upon a capital idea
that combiues in the plan neatness,
durability and economy, and when
the work is finished, he will have one
of the neatest lots to be fonnd now
in those sacred grounds. It is all
done, too, by the mere banking of
earth and then sodding, with blue
grass. If those who now own lots
there would take an interest like Mr.
Wright in improving and beautify
ing them our cemetery in a few years
would be a most attractive place, and
there is not a more flattering index
to the refined tastes of a com'
munity than a cemetery made beau
tiful by those who have friends
buried there. We lesrn that the
cemetery commissioners will shortly
erect in the centre of tde grounds a
reat,well ventilated house with seats
it, which will be intended as a
place where those who visit the
cemetery may enjoy a rest in up
pressive weather. They also speak
of having a well dug which will be
a convenience.

Base*Ball
The following has been handed us
for publication by one of our juve
nile base ballists:
0 e of the most amnsing inci
dents ol the season occurred on the
base ball grounds a few days since. It
seems that our champion club of
semi-professionals concluded to point
a good joke by crossing lances with
a crowd of small boys who had or
ganized a club with Charley Harris
os captain. Imagine the chagrin and
mortification of the elder crowd
when the final score showed 5 to 2
in favor of the barefoots, and this
they accomplished as easily as David
slew Goliah. We would advise onr
crest-fallen base ballists to do a little
more practicing aud less boasting
else they will find another David.

How Watches Are Made.
It wi II be apparent to any one,
who will examine a Solid Gold
Watch, that aside from the necessa
ry thickness for engraving and pol
ishing, a large proportion of the pre
cious metal used, is needed only to
stiffen and hold the engraved por
tions in place, and supply the neces
sary solidity and strength. Thesur-
plus gold is actually needless so far
as utility and beauty are concerned.
In James Boss’ Patent Gold Watch
Cases, this WASTE of precious metal
is overcome, and the same solidity
and strength produced at from
oue-third to one half of the usual
cost of solid cases. This process is
of the most simple nature, as fol
lows: a plate of nickle composition
m«tal, especially adapted to the pur-
pnspj has two plates of SOLID GOLD
soldered one on each side. The three
are then passed between polished
steel rollers, and the result is a strip
of heavy plated composition, from
which the cases, oacks, centres, b< z-
eU, &c., are cut and shaped by suita
ble dies and formers. The gold in
these cases is sufficiently thick to
admit of all kinds of chasing, en
graving enamelling; the engraved
cases have been carried until worn
perfectly smooth by time and use
without removing the gold.
This is the only case made toith two
plates of solid gold and warranted by
special certificate.

Woman’s Rights.—One who has
long studied this subject now pre
sents the result o' his investigations,
ile is happy to say that he has dis
covered “Woman’s B st Friend.” It
is adapted especially to those cases
where the womb is disordered, and
will cure any irregularity of the
“menses.” Bradford's Female Reg
ulator acts like a charm in “whites,”
or a sudden check of the “monthly
courses,” from cold, trouble of mind
or like causes, by restoring the dis
charge in every instance. In chron
ic cases its ac ion is prompt and de
cisive, and saves the constitution
from countless evils and premature
decay. Prepared by Dr. J. Brad field,
