INCliK NAN TO THE HEStl’E.
Disappointed on the attitude of the
the New York hanks as to their
uhc of the Government funds and in
the failure of the national hanks to
Increase their circulation to meet the
present needs In accordance with the
unusual facilities offered them, Presi
dent Roosevelt and Secretary Cortol-
you huve devised a plan for re
lieving the situation, which we sin
cerely hope will prove efficacious.
They will Issue $50,000,001) of Panama
Cana] bonds and $100,000,000 of
treasury notoH, and these will provide
a profitable Investment for those
whose confldnece In corporations has
been shaken by the recent violent ag
itation, and will give the Govern
ment funds with which to help the
South and West in moving their crops.
It Is along the same lines as asked
by President Duckworth, of the Farm
ers’ Union, In authorizing cotton cer
tificates, and should afford a prompt
measure of relief. Besides this no
tice has been given of gradual
withdrawal of funds from the New
York banks for transferral to the
South and West.
The President and his Secretary of
the Treasury scorn fulty alive to the
situation, and are trying to do every
thing In their power to alle
viate tho stringency of currency. And
tho country at large wishes them God-
spoed In their efforts.
the meantime, don’t forget
that there is Just as much money in
country as there was, and as
soon as the big c^ty hanks can feel
tasonably sure that their depositors
111 not get scared and make
on them, It will he turned loose. Our
n judgment Is that they should
do this at once, for the recent patiii
has given tho public confidence In
the ability of the banking Institutions
jf the country to weather any storm,
and there is no longer danger
run as that which wrecked the
Knickerbocker and other New York
hanks during the first duys of the
squeeze.

THE IIOOSIER GIRL.
Kate Watson, who is said to
be one of the funniest women on the
stage today, will be at the Lyceum
tomorrow evening In her successful
three-act rural comedy drama, “The
Hoosler Girl,” and her humorous
portrayal of Roxana Peabody, with a
fund of wit and common sense con-
ealcd beneath the uncouth appear
ance of a backwoods child who
dresses In gingham pinafores and
who wears her hair In pigtails, Is
to be one that Is funny In the
extreme; and there is a naturalness
about the character which appeals
to the heart and makes it one of the
most lovable on the stage. Miss
Watson is surrounded by a company
of artists, each one of whom is
said to have been chosen particularly
for the character portrayed, chief
mong whom Is Mr. Gus Cohan in his
funny portrayal of Heinrich Wetzel
the only Dutchman at Sandy Hook,
ho Is always In trouble.

"For over thirty years,’* writes a
gentleman in Los Angeles, " I have
used Arbuckles* Coffee. Many times
my family has tried other coffee only to
come back to our old reliable, unchange
able Arbuckles.* No other coffee has
this uniform never failing aroma, I care
not at what price. I have often wished
1 could tell you this.’’ Many other
people have the same opinion.
Arbuckles' was ike first rotated packaged
coffee, tad its talc* exceed all the others put
together. Thai it coats you less is due simply
to our coffee business being so much greater
than any competitors, in fact, it is larger than the
next four largest firms in the world combined.
We naturally can and actually do give better
coffee in ARI(5SA than anyone else can give
for the price; Being the standard article it is
sold at the narrowest marguwj^fofit.
Some grocers will try to sell
you instead loose coffee which the
roaster is ashamed to sell in a
package bearing his name.
Don’t take it, neither the looks nor the price
indicate its cup quality. No matter where you
buy Arbuckles’ ARIOSA, or what you pay
for it, it's the same old uniform Arbuckles’
ARIOSA Coffee.
