An Important Matter.
By reference to the grand jury
presentments it will be seen that
a tax committee of five leading
cMxeat the county have been
appointed as a board of assessors
to go over the tax returns for this
year and see that property is re¬
turned or assessed at its Hue val-
nation.
It is a notorious fact that a
g re at, deal of property in this, as
wq ]1 as in other counties, is re
turned at ridiculously low. fig-
ures. This is a great injustice to the
liberal tax payer and theproper-
U v owner who very greatly under¬
values his property this year may
rest assured that i is returns will
be gone over very carefully by ibis
committee and proper action tak-
Vn in each case.
It will "be better to give in
property correctly than to lie
raked over the coals by this corn-
mittee and have your figures
doubled over your^protest,

Better Than Pills.
The question has been asked,
“In what way are chamberlain’s
Stomach & Liver Tablets superior
to pills?” Our answer is: They
are easier and more, pleasant to
take, more mild and gentle in ef¬
feet and more reliable as they can
stomach and leave the bowels in
a natural condition, while pilla
are more harsh in effect and their
use is often followed by constipa¬
tion. For sale by 8. I*. Williams,
