JOHN LEGGETT DEAD.
One of tbe saddest deaths we
have been called upon to chroni-
cle in some time is that of John
Leggett, which occurred early last
Friday morning. He had been ill
less than two weeks but the rath-
er strange, malady which seized
upon Ids mind and body grew
gradually and rapidly worse un¬
til death relieved him.
The deceased was just entering
the years of maturity when he
vvas stricken with fatal illness
which at times dethroned him of
his reason but the published re-
ports that he was seut to the asy-
Run or that he seriously injured
himself lti an attempt to commit
suicide were not true.

(•ood For Rheumatism.
Last fall I was taken with a very
severe attack of muscular rlieu-
matism which caused me great
fid and annoyance. After try-
ing several • prescriptions and
rheumatic cures, I decided to use
Chamberlains Pain Balm, which
I had seen advertised in the South
Jersey man. After two applica¬
tions of this remedy I was much
better, and after using one bottle
was completely cured.—Sallic

Teachers at Sparks.
A great host of Eerrien’s
gressive pedagogues met in
last Saturday. The principal bus¬
iness transacted was the prepara¬
tion of a programme tor the edu¬
cational fair and teach ;rs insti¬
tute to be held the first week in
June. Sparks and Nashville each
aspired to have the honor of the
annual institute meeting and
Sparks was the winner, this b*-i» g
considered the more accessible
point.
So, the institute and fair will
be held at Sparks the first week
in June and a most interesting
program carried out.
Although no regular institute
discussions were indulged in rat-
urday, the day was spent most
pleasantly, the clever people of
our sister city doing the host act
in a highly acceptable manner.
“A neighbor ran in with a bofc-
tie of Chamberlain's Colic, Chol¬
era and Diarrhoea Remedy when
my son was suffering with severe
and was given up as be¬
yond hope by my regular physi¬
who stands high in his pro¬
fession. Afler administering
three doses of it, my son regained
and recovered en-
in twenty-four hours,” says
Mrs. Mary Haller, of Mt. Craw¬
Va. This remedy is for sale
by tS. P. Williams.
Buried Last Week.
The body of Mrs, Claude Shaw
whs interred in the. cemetery hare
last Thursday afternoon. Her
death occurred in Colquitt county
where the family resided for some
tune. The family resided here
several years ago hut for the past
few years had not been here. Mrs.
Shaw was a most devout Christian
and the record of her life leaves
an impression for good.
Rev. John S. Lindsey conducted
funeral services at the grave.

risk her health to get a coveted

against the insiuuous consequenc¬
es of coughs, colds, and bronchial
affections by the regular use of
Dr. Boschee’s German Syrup. It
will promptly arrest consumption
in its early stages and heal the
affected lungs and bronchial tubes
and drive the dread disease from
the system. It is not a cure-all
but it is a certain cure for coughs,
