The Supper a Success.
Cecil. Ga., April 6, lOOl.—The
entertainment, by tlje ladius of
Cpcil, at the liyrd House Monday
night, for the benefit of the new
Methodist parsonage hure, was a
success in every way, and a most
enjoyable occasion to all present.

coolness of the weather, the fair

a large quantity of ice-cream and

After refreshments were served

Election for Councilman.

man to fill the vacancy caused by
the resignation of Mr. A. A. Par¬

on April 27th and it is important

man be chosen.
Mr, Parrjsb has made one
the best, and safest members that

loss is keenly felt.
Mr. M. M. Newberry has been
right sick but is improving. Dr.
Woodard is attending him and
last week his brother, Dr. New?

of Macon, came down to see him.

for seed to come up. A good

The band entertainment ami
supper at Ilnhira Friday night
was a good success. Speeches
were made hy W. W. Webb,
Mayor Luvsbn and IIon.lt. F.
Otisiey, of Valdosta, which
the spirit of the occasion into
every heart and the enthusiasm
ran to tli3 highest. All expressed
themselves as having enjoyed
the evening to a great degree,
Fine music was rendered and

was realized from the sale of re-
freshments.
The protracted meeting at the
Methodist church is running this
week. Not very largely attended,
but having a go«->d meeting.
Mr. Willie Gridin is critically
ill. We hope for a change for
the better.

Lem Johnson Not Crazy.
Deputy Sheriff Avera was in
Adel Wednesday and stated that
Lem Johnson, who was playing
crazy, had come to his senses.
Johnson refused to oat
for three days and acted foolishly
in many ways A good many
people thought him crazy but the
jail officials did not think so and
a littie gentle persuasion brought
him-around all right.
