Prayer Breakfast each Thursday at
7:15 a.m.
There will be a Women's Bible

each Friday from 10 a.m. till 11:30
a.m. All ladies are welcome.
The Men of the Leesburg United
Methodist Church will be meet
ing at Krystal's in Leesburg at 8
a.m. each Tuesday for a Prayer
Breakfast.
There is a Men’s Prayer Break
fast each Wednesday at 6 and 7
a.m. at First Baptist Church.
Prayers and sympathy go to the
family of Marion Joiner Cannon
who passed away last Tuesday.
She is survived by a number of
children.
A beautiful reception was held
last Sunday afternoon at First Bap
tist Church in honor of Mrs. Helen
Kennedy who had been at the
bank in Leesburg for about 33
years.

LCPS To Hold FALL Carnival
Lee County Primary School will
hold their Fall Carnival on Satur
day, October 6. The carnival will
start at 10:00 a.m. and will end at
2:00 p.m.
Activities and events will in
clude games - prizes, hayride,
cake walk, bingo, hot dogs - pizza,
cotton candy, “thumbs Up” for
USA, demos - entertainment. Pal
ladium Players and corn on the
cob.
The public is invited the Fall
Carnival.

Southwest Georgia Community
Action Council opened the Cool
ing Assistance Program through
out the area on August 6,2001. A
very limited allocation of funds
was received with the expectation
of additional funds from the fed
eral government. The Southwest
Georgia Community Action
Council have been advised that
the additional funds will not be
forthcoming. Therefore, the cool
ing program has closed.
Households are encouraged to
apply for the winter program, the
Low Income Home Energy Assis
tance Program (LIHEAP). The
LIHEAP program is scheduled to
begin on Thursday, November 1,
2001 to homebound individuals
and those 70 years of age or older.
The program should open to the
general public on December 3,
2001.
