Autumn Leaves
by Grace Rhodes
Try walking down a country lane
And feel the autumn weather
The leaves are turning from summer's green
To the color of winter heather.
Your walk is slow, your stride is long
You pause to look around,
you gaze into space, your mind wonders on
Your feet barely touches the ground.
You tread on leaves of red and gold
That have fallen by the way.
From the tree that once were emerald green
And you know that you must stay -
To take in the breath of autumn air
And float on clouds and the breeze,
Look up and thank God for all that you have
And for each of those Autumn Leaves.
