Trojan Homecoming /
Senior Recognition
Lee County High School will
celebrate Homecoming Friday
night as the Trojans take on
Lowndes County on Trojan Field.
The last game played in Trojan
Field brought a Trojan victory in
two overtimes as the Trojans de
feated Ware County with a score
of 24-15. Trojan fans hope for
another upset as LCHS pushes to
fill the stands with Trojan sup
port.
"Support from the fans IS im
portant," remarked Coach Tim
Goodin. "Our last home game
seated the smallest crowd I can
remember in my 7 year history
here, partially because students
were out of school that day, par
tially because of the weather, and
partially because of our season
record at the time." Yet Trojan
players still played on to victory,
with those fans who were there
wild with excitement toward the
end of the game. It may have been
the smallest crowd of the year, but
all in attendance agreed that it was
the best game of the year.
Coach Goodin continued to
comment on the team's improve
ment through the year. "The last
three weeks have seen marked
improvement in several areas,
and Friday night's game should
be a good ballgame."
Senior participants in Friday
night activities will be recognized
in a pre-game ceremony. Senior
football players, cheerleaders,
band members, and Danceliners
and their parents will be intro
duced and honored in a ceremony
beginning at 7:40. This tribute to
Senior athletes and participants is
a tradition at Lee County High
School, providing the school and
the community a chance to thank
Seniors for their contributions to
the game.
Halftime festivities will also
take on a different flair as the
Homecoming Court is presented
and the Homecoming Queen and
Princess are crowned.
An added bonus to this week's
game will be the post-game field
show by the Lowndes County
Band. The band, totaling over 200
students, will arrive in 12 buses
to entertain fans following the
game.
Other Homecoming activities
include the Homecoming Parade
at 4:30 pm on Thursday after
noon. LCHS students are also in
vited to attend the Homecoming
Dance on Saturday night in the
high school cafeteria. Tickets are
available for purchase at the high
school during the week prior to
the dance.
