Teacher Of The Year
Shea Fears has been named
Teacher of the Year by the staff at
Lee County Elementary School.
Mrs. Fears teaches math to fifth
graders.
Shea Fears has six years of teach
ing experience, all of which has
been in Lee County.
Shea Fears has a Bachelor of Sci
ence Degree in Education from the
University of Georgia. She is
working on a Masters in Education
at Georgia Southwestern State Uni
versity.
Mrs. Fears, the former Shea Win
gate, is a native of Leesburg, Geor
gia. Her hobbies are reading and
working outside in her flower beds.

County High School Project Suc
cess students job shadowed in a
chosen career area. Success stu
dents have been working on Ca
reer Manuals for the past few
weeks. Each student was given
the opportunity to visit the work
site and see first hand what a
day’s work is like. The day was
used as a motivational activity as
well as an opportunity to provide
a unique experience for each par
ticipant. The connection between
academics and careers helped to
make the classwork more rel
evant. Also, building community
partnerships between Lee County
high school students and busi
nesses help to enhance the edu
cational experience.
