Boy Scout Troop #210 meets
each Monday at 7 p.m. at the
Leesburg United Methodist
Church Learning Center.
The Lee County Historical So
ciety meets each second Thursday
at 7 p.m. The next meeting will
be in January.
The American Legion meets
each first Monday at 7 p.m. at the
American Legion Building.
The Masonic Lodge meets each
second and fourth Thursday night
at 7 p.m. at the Lodge Building.
The Youth of the Leesburg
United Methodist Church will
have a Youth Prayer Breakfast
each Thursday at 7:15 a.m.
The Men of the Leesburg United
Methodist Church will be meet
ing at Krystal’s in Leesburg at 8
a.m. each Tuesday for a Prayer
Breakfast.
The offices at the Leesburg
United Methodist Church and the
First Baptist Church will be
closed for Thanksgiving Day,
Thursday and Friday, November
22 and 23.
J.M. and Grace Rhodes have
their grandson as their guest for a
few days. Graham Rhodes of
Stone Mountain, Ga. will be with
them through Thanksgiving when
his parents, Jim and Toni Rhodes
will come.
J.M. and Grace Rhodes cel
ebrated their 55th wedding anni
versary last Saturday night with
an “eat-out” with their son and
wife, Butch and Mary (Polly)
Rhodes. Also Miles and Carol
Martin. The Cracker Barrel is a
great place to eat.
The American Legion had a
Pancake Breakfast last Saturday,
November 17 from 7 to 11 a.m.
They also had a Turkey Shoot.
The winners were: Butch Rhodes,
Butch McGill, Ralph Headen, and
Neil Eubanks.

Elbert Williams is a patient at
Palmyra Hospital in intensive
care.

Georgia and Christopher Ashley
Cox of Leesburg. Georgia, ex
changed their wedding vows Au
gust 4, 2001. The 6:00 p.m. cer
emony was held at St. Mark and
St. John Episcopal Church in
Albany, Georgia. Dr. Rev. Joe
Clift officiated.
The bride is the daughter of
Bonnie and Richard Gardner of
West Palm Beach. She has two
sisters, Trudy Fraker and Tanya
Carter, and one brother, the late
Edward Favreru. She has five
nephews and one niece. The bride
is granddaughter of Robert and
Marion Pasno and the late Rob
ert Gardner and Elizabeth
Gardner-Messier.
Mr. Cox is the son of Brenda
and Henry Cox of Leesburg. He
has one sister. Kayla Cox. The
groom is the grandson of Emory
“Poodle” and Ella May Addison
and the late Henry and Irene Cox.
The bride, escorted by her fa
ther, wore a dress made by
Michael Angelo. The dress had
short sleeves, a scoop neck and
basque waist. The full skirt had a
cathedral train. It was a two tone
color in ivory and rum pink. The
back of the skirt and train had an
inlay of tulle and was adorned
with rum pink roses. The bodice
was adorned with ivory lace ap
pliques and rum pink flowers.
They were trimmed with pearls
and sequins. An ivory and rum
pink bow with the rum pink satin
sash completed the train.
The bride’s head band style
head piece was rum pink with
sequins, crystals and pearls to
match the gown. It was attached
to a cathedral length ivory tulle
veil with pearls.
The matron of honor was Ann
Taylor, the bride’s best friend.
The maids of honor were Trudy
Fraker and Tanya Carter, the
bride’s sisters.
The bridesmaids were Terisa

Arts & Crafts Christmas Auction will
be held November 29 at 7:00 p.m.
The Arts & Crafts Auction will be
held at the Lee County Governmen
tal Building next to the courthouse.
The proceeds from the auction will
benefit community projects.
Taylor, the bride’s friends, Renee
Thompson, the groom’s cousin,
and Kayla Cox, the groom’s sis
ter. Amber Carter, the bride’s
niece, was the flower girl.
The best man was Henry Cox,
the groom’s father. Usher
groomsmen were Jason Swords .
groom’s cousin, Shane Cox,
groom’s cousin, Jeff Swords,
groom’s cousin, and Lee
Ethridge, groom’s best friend.
Jacob Fraker, bride’s nephew,
was the ringbearer.
All the attendants’ dresses as
well as the tuxedos were black.
Following the wedding cer
emony, a reception was held at the
Garden Center in Albany.
The bride is employed at
Blackbeard’s as a dining room su
pervisor. She is a graduate of Lee
County High School and is cur
rently pursuing a degree in the
nursing field at Darton College.
The groom, a graduate of Lee
County High School, is employed
by Schneider National Motor
Carrier.

Governmental Building.
