Lee County Utility Authority personnel assisted the workers from “Lawn Cutters” last week. “Lawn
Cutters” was the low bidders to extend the sewage services to parts of Smithville presently without
sewage service. The project is being funded through a grant. The assistance was made possible by
Lee County Commission Chairman Jackie Sizemore.

21, entered into the Pre-Trial
Diversion Program.

charged with theft by shoplift
ing, entered into the Pre-Trial
Diversion Program.
Kelvin Lamar Johnson, 32,
of 1447 Hwy 19 South #23,
was charged with speeding
72 m.p.h. in a 45 speed zone
and driving under the influ
ence of alcohol January 22 by
Capt. Mike Rouse. Lt. Rouse
checked Johnson traveling at
72 miles per hour on GA Hwy
3 and initiated a traffic stop.
While talking to Johnson,
Capt. Rouse detected a strong
odor of an alcoholic beverage
on him. He tested positive
on the alco-sensor. He was
placed under arrest and trans
ported to the jail for booking.
Camille Andrissa Johnson,
25, of 411 Odom St. Apt. #14,
Albany, was charged with
failure to yield when entering
roadway and driving while
license suspended January 22
by Cpl. Jeffery L. Fordham.
Cpl. Fordham responded
to a traffic accident in the
3000 block of Palmyra Road.
Camille Andrissa Johnson,
who was involved in the ac
cident, told the officer that
she did not have a driver’s
license. Dispatch advised that
her license was suspended
for failure to appear. She was
placed under arrest on the two
charges.
Robert Leslie Connell, 25,
of 284 Linden Road Lot 5,
Leesburg, was charged with
disorderly while intoxicated
January 21 by Dep. Rob Stull.
Connell was at a neighbor’s
residence creating a distur
bance while drinking. He
was placed under arrest and
transported to the jail where
he was issued a citation to
magistrate court.
Gustavo Alberto Lopez
Vazquez, 26, of 2415 Dawson
Road Apt. G6, Albany, was
charged January 20 with
failure to maintain lane,
DUI alcohol person over 21
and possession of fraudulent
identification by Cpl. Brown
ing. While Cpl. Browning was
on patrol in the 300 block of
Hwy 19 South, he observed
Lopez Vazques fail to main
tain lane and made a traffic
stop. He admitted that he had
been drinking and tested posi
tive on the alco-sensor. Lopez
Vazques was placed under ar
rest on the above charges. He
was also charged with giving
fraudulent identification.
Love Miles Hardrick Jr.,
52, of Fairfax Room 112,
Leesburg, was charged with
possession of cocaine by Of
ficer D. Sapp. The arrest was
made in the 1400 block of
Hwy 19 South.
Laken Jones, 20, of 110
Susina Drive, Leesburg, was
charged January 20 by Sgt.
Daniel McTyeire with posses
sion of cocaine, possession of
marijuana less than an ounce
and speeding 78 m.p.h. in a
55 speed zone. The arrest was
made in the 3100 block of
Ledo Road.
Phillip Welch, 40, of
Blakely, Georgia, was charged
with possession of cocaine
and possession of marijuana
less than an ounce January 20
by Sgt. Daniel McTyeire. The
arrest was made in the 1000
block of Hwy 19 South.
Katherine Butts, 20, of 119
Kathy Crt., Leesburg, was
charged January 20 by Sgt.
Daniel McTyeire with posses
sion - consumption of alcohol
by minor. The arrest was in
the 1000 block of Hwy 19
South.
Joseph John Moffitt, 25,
of 723 Stocks Dairy Road,
Leesburg, was charged Janu
ary 18 with battery and false
imprisonment by Dep. S.
Pressley-Fordham. Dep. Press-
ley-Fordham responded to 723
Stocks Dairy Road after a call
from that location to dispatch
was disconnected. The officer
made contact with the person
who placed the call and was
told that Moffitt would not
allow her to leave by holding
her arms. She stated that she
was also slapped on the face.
Moffitt was transported to the
jail and booked.
Jose Fourquet, 35, of 1402
Campbell Drive, Albany,
was charged with distribut
ing marijuana and possession
of marijuana with intent to
distribute and Matthew Craig
Fabiani, 18, of 1137 Hwy 19
South Lot #103, Leesburg,
was charged with distribut
ing marijuana January 18 by
Sgt. E. Yearicks. The arrests
were made in the 200 block of

Wheaton issued sentences in Leesburg
Municipal Court January 17, 2006.
The following people had traffic
citations/city cases heard:
Karen Alonso pled guilty to speeding
49 m.p.h. in a 35 speed zone. She
was sentenced to pay $146.32 in
fines.
Ilean Bady pled guilty to
speeding 59 m.p.h.
in a 45 speed zone.
She was sentenced
to pay $146.32 in
fines.
Walid El-
chayole pled
guilty
speeding
48 m.p.h.
in a 35 speed
zone. He was sen
tenced to pay $112.39
in fines.
Carmen Ferrell pled guilty to expired
license and nolo to cutting corners. She
was sentenced to pay $210.00 in fines.
Ashley Flint pled guilty to speeding 49
in a 35 speed zone. She was sentenced to
25 hours community service.
Mahendra Patel pled guilty to reck
less driving. He was sentenced to pay
$500.00 in fines.
Brenda Patnawde pled not guilty to
failure to stop at a stop sign.
She was sentenced to
pay $135.00 in fines.
Marty Tumbleson
pled guilty to ex
pired drivers license
and failure to yield
right of way. He was
sentenced to pay
$270.00 in fines.
The following
people did not show
for court or made arrangements to pay
their fines.
A $75.00 fee has been
added to each charge. If
payment is not made in ten days a DPS
912 will be issued which will result in
suspension of their driver’s license.
Andre Bettencourt did not appear to
the charge of speeding 56 m. p.h. in a 35
speed zone. Her fine is $221.32.
Christopher Guilbeau did not appear
to the charge of failure to stop at a stop
sign. His fine is $210.00.
Eric Harris did not appear to the charge
of speeding76 in a 55 speed zone. His
fine is $221.32.
Felton Johnson did not appear to the
charge of speeding 80 m.p.h. in a 45
speed zone. His fine is $333.52 and a
warrant has been issued for his arrest on
a must appear charge.
Travis Mcleod did not appear to the
charge of passing a loading/unloading
school bus. His fine is $412.50, and a
warrant has been issued for his arrest on
a must appear charge.
Daniel Odom did not appear to the
charge of no licence on person. His fine
is $210.00.
Tonya Watson did not appear to the
charge of speeding 64 m.p.h. in a 35
speed zone. Her fine is $255.22.
Christopher Wyatt did not appear to
the charge of speeding 74 m.p.h. in a 55
speed zone. His fine is $221.32.
