• Lee County - Leesburg - Smithville Planning
Commission will meet Thursday, September
5 at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at the
T. Page Tharp Governmental Building. Opal
Cannon Auditorium, 102 Starksville Avenue

• Lee County Board of Elections & Registration
will meet Tuesday, November 10 at 9:00 a.m.
The meeting will be held in the Election &
Registration Office which is located behind
the Tax Commissioner’s Office. The meeting
is open to the public.
• Lee County Commissioners will meet Tues
day, September 10 at 6:00 p.m. The meeting
will be held at the T. Page Tharp Governmen
tal Building, Opal Cannon Auditorium, 102
Starksville Avenue North, Leesburg.
• The Joy Riders, Albany CMA (Christian
Motorcycle Association) Chapter will meet
Saturday, September 14 at 10:00 a.m. at Power
Plus ,3006 Kensington Court in Albany. All

• Veterans join the camaraderie of fellow veter
ans at the Leesburg American Legion Post 182
the first Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at
J&E Restaurant on Walnut Ave. in Leesburg.
• The Albany Amateur Radio Club meets the
fourth Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at
Avalon United Methodist Church, Albany
(rear of the church).
• Albany Shrine Club business meeting is the
first Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. La
dies Night is the third Saturday at 7 p.m.
• Cub Scout Pack 210 meets at Leesburg United
Methodist Church at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.

Nine Permits Issued For
New Homes In August
For Lee County
During the month of
August 2019, the Lee
County Building Per
mit Office issued nine
permits for single family
dwellings. The nine per
mits were issued in the
unincorporated area of
Lee County.
The estimated con
struction cost of the nine
homes in the unincorpo
rated area of Lee County
was $705,891.00.
During August, two
permits were issued for
stores and customer ser
vice in the unincorporat
ed area of Lee County.
The estimated cost was
$565,960.00.
During August, one
permit was issued for
remodeling a restaurant
in the unincorporated
area of Lee County. The
estimated construction
cost was $66,880.
During August, one
residential demolition
permit was issued in the
unincorporated area of
Lee County.
In the unincorporated
area of Lee County,
four accessory building
permits were issued
along with eight pools
and signs permits, 23
electrical permits, 20
plumbing and 68 heating
and air permits.
In Leesburg, one
permit was issued for
residential addition and
alteration.
In Leesburg, two
plumbing permits, six
electrical, eight heating
& air and one gas permit
were issued.
There were not any
permits issued in Smith
ville.
