He Didn’t get the Meat.
We publish 11st where an interest
ing communication from Mr. P. H.
Cherry, giving his experience in and
around Thomasvillc, as an escaped
lederal prisioner. Mr, Cherry has no
doubt keenly enjoyed his v.sit to the
scenes which he describes. Mr. F. IT.
Butler invited him out to his house and
showed him the spot where he lound
his hog.
"Mr. Butler,’’ said Mr. Cherry, “it
has been a long time ago, but T am
willing to pay iou for that hog, if you
say so, but vou should remember that
you got it back, and that I did not get
any of it except the heart and a piece
of the liver.” “All right,” said Fein,
we will call r even.”
And these two mea, who had fought
on opposite sides, ouc wearing the
gray and the other the blue, sat down
and talked over the past, talked it
over is only true and brave men can.
Each thought he was right,
Mr. Cherry was particularly inter
ested in Lum Atkinson’s house, where
he spent weeks.
"Mr. Atkinson,'’said Mr. Cherry, “I
would have known the house any
where. It looks exactly tike it did <5
ye-irs ago, 1 do not think a shingle has
been put on it.”
And the boys had the laugh on Lum.
Mr. Cherry leaves to day for his
Western home, and carries with him.no
doubt, pleasant memories of his last
visit to Thomasville. He has many
friends here who . will always gladly
welcome him to this Sunny Southland
of ours.

“Don’t Give up the ShipF ,
Don’t surrender, although the fight be
long and bitter, and results thus far but dis
mal failures. Old Bad Blood may yet be
conquered nnd disease driven from the cita
del of life. You have not used the
proper remedy, or long ago you would have
lelt a change. You lmvc tried this and that,
a hundred bottles of this specific and fifty bot-
bot of that sarsaparilla, aud feel you might
ns well have used so much rain water for all
the good effect they had. Why have you
not tried B. B. B.J (Botanic Blood Balm)
made in Atlanta, Ga. ? Because it isn’t ad
vertised so conspicuously as other remedies?
Well, that’s a poor reason. The greatest
humbugs can afford the largest advertise
ments. As for B. B. B* try it, and if six
bottles don’t do you more good than all the
other blood medicine you h$vo ever taken,
call it a humburg, a name that has never
yet been applied to it by any one.
Walter Bridges, Athens, Tenn., writes :
For six years I had been afflicted with run
ping sores and an enlargement of the bone
in my leg. I tried evt-rything I heard of
without any permanent benefit until Bota
nic Blood Balm was roccmracnded to me.
After using six bottles the sores healed, and
I am now in better health than I have ever
been. I send this testimonial unsolicited,
because I want others to be benefitted.”
