Atlanta, Ga., Nov. 17, The anti.
corset crusade lias not yet reached
Atlanta but it is on the way, accord
ing to members of the fair sex who
are in correspondence with a national
organization which* has just been
incorporated in Indianapolis.
The crusade has been on in At
lanta and the corsets off for some
time as far as flappers were concerned
but the mothers and grandmothers
hereabouts—in Georgia and other
states of the South—are now to be
saved from the menace of the con
stricted waistline.
That’s the purpose of the Anna Lee
Anti-Corset Society, incorporated in
Indianapolis, which is soon to be
introduced to the feminine portion of
this fair Southland of
Exclusive Agents Park and Tilford’s fine Candies.

MRS. ANDERSON FREED
OF MURDER CHARGE
Beckley, W. Va., Nov. 17 Mrs.
Alice Anderson last night.was found
guilty of the murder of her hoi
band, John M. Anderson, former
judge of criminal court of Rafelgh
county.
Before the closing argument!
made yesterday afternoon, the de
fendant on redirect examination,
testified she obtained a revolver from
behind a trunk and shot her husband
after he had threatened to beat her.
Sheriff P. O. Blankenship, called by
the state, testified that Mrs. Ander.
son had complained of ill-treatment
by her husband and had declared that
unless the authorities came to her
assistance she would take the law in
to her own hands. The defense
sought to prove that the statement
was made on an occasion when tiro
sheriff was called to the house after
the judge had smashed Buveral piecei
