The monthly weather report for
November Is an interesting paper.
It shows that there were only four
days In the enttro thirty on which
even a trace of rain fell. The total
precipitation was one and flhy-elgbt
hundredths inches. About fourteen-
fifteenths of this amount fail In one
day, the tenth. That date was also
notable from the fact that the wind
reached a velocity of seventeen miles
per hour, whereas the average veloc'-
lty tor tl|r month was only four and
four-fifths miles. The highest tem
perature recorded was 83 on the sixth
of the month and the lowest was 35
onlhe 12 th. Tho highest variation
of temperature in any twenty-four
hours was 31 degrees on the 18th
and the lowest dally range was eight
degrees on the tenth, the day it
rained. The mean temperature for
the month was 60.1, There were
12 "heavy” frosts and two “light”
ones, but not a single "killing” frost
during the entire thirty days. Taken
os a whole, Mr. Brlst, the manager
of the Thomasvtlle weather station,
Is to be congratulated on hlB output.

The shlmentn of syrup and cotton
from this point are a little off this
season as compared with last. To
date there has been about 7,000 bar

shortage of nearly 8,000 bales and
there Is a proportionate falling off in
syrup. The decrease In the cotton
receipts Is on account of two causes
