NAVAL STORES.
Factors Optimistic For Future Trad-
tug In TUa Commodity.
Savannah, On., Dec. 14.—Though
the recelpta of navaf a torea at 8avan-
uni} continue heavy, anuiually.no lu
fact for this tlma of aeaaon and the
market la aborning aome softening
tendencies as a result, tbe factorage
elements are rather optimistic on tbe
future outlook. For the week just
cloned a net loss of 3-4c per gallon
was quoted. Tbe opening Monday,
December 9, was Arm at 45c. Tbe
close yesterday was firm at 44 l-4p.
Tbe bigbeat quotation of tbe week
was quoted at the first call of tbe
week.
When general statistical conditions
are considered, It la quite probable
that tbe factorage elements take the
correct view of the oituation. To be
gin with tbe producers of the Inter
ior, effected more or less by^he re
cent financial stringency, are making
every endeavor to market supplies as
soon as possible In order to secure
ready money. For this reason much
of the naval stores which would or
dinarily come In during January,
February and March, Is now being
forced as much as possible. When
these extra supplies are exhausted It
means that the receipts will dwindle
materially and as a result of this fact
,lt would only be reasonable to sup
pose that prices will find a higher
level.
