Yesterday at ten o'clock the soul
of Mrs. L. L. Varnadoe passed from
Its earthly home to that In the Croat
Beyond. After passing her eightieth
year a few months ago, Mrs. Varna-
doe has been very weak and yester
day slipped into a deep sleep from
which there can be no awakening on
this earth. She. was not very 111 but
her feeble body could not stand any
more the vicissitudes and troubles
of an earthly life and she passed
sway.
Mrs. Varnadoe was the wife of
Capt. L. L. Varnadoe who preceeded
her to the grave about eleven years
ago. Since then she has made her
home with her children, and was re
spected and loved by all who came In
touch with the beauty and unselflsh-
nesa of her life. One of the best
women In the world, and one whose
whole thought and actions were for
the benefit of her children and
their friends, she Is being truly miss
ed by those to whom she was so dear.
She leaves six children to mourn
the loss of their best friend and
counsellor, Mrs. Arthur Wslte of Sa
vannah, Mrs. Hattie Mallard, Mrs.
K. W. McKinnon and Messrs. L. C.
Varnadoe, L. A. Varnadoe and R. M.
Varnadoe. One child, Mrs. Nat.
Heeth has already preceeded her to
the grave.
The funeral will occur at three
o'clock this afternoon from the hom<
of her daughter, Mrs. K. W. McKin
non and the Interment will tako
place at Laurel Hill cemetary. Her
six grandsons will act as pallbearers,
Messrs. Leander, Heeth, Clinton Var
nadoe, Cyrus Mallard, Lem McKin
