During tho.past month Prof.

ly over Georgia in the interests
of his department, and ' speaks
from first-hand information gath
ered while studying' local condi
tions in agricultural- pursui te.
“People’ have jjone back to work
with a spirit and determination
that has not been shown since the
boll weevil became so bad. When
the weevil first came, it stunned
the people. They saw ivha l great
damage was being done to the cot

heartened. All of their other act,-

the meetings a success. The
schedule - of addresses, he stated,
coveyed practically all problems
relating to the planning of the
crop for .1023. . Marketing ques
tions and taking care of ’the crops
also were considered.
NORTH GEORGIA IS-
A MONTH AHEAD. :
Turning to discuss' crop indica-

Campbell asserted that this sec

last year in preparing the land
for cultivation and thaj an unus

now ready for planting, '/j, similar
condition prevrifk in south Geor

north as Macon, and even Ameri-
cus, has been prepared and plant
ing south of. Albany is going on
steadily.
The furmers there plan, a heavy
increase in cotton acreage.
“But chat docs not mean that the
farmers of that region are losing
interest in livestock. Even though
the cotton acreage is going to
be increased in south' Georgia,
ihere is no waning-of interest in
