VANCOUVER—The American
fishing schooner, Siloam of Beattie,
suspected of poaching on the west
coast of Vancouver, was captured
early Thursday morning, by the
Canadian Fisheries Patrol boat Mai-
nsplna .It was announced officially.
The schooner wan captured only
after being struck broadside by
volley8 from the patrol boat and
scuttled.
Ah the schooner began to go
down, tho crew fled, leaving one
man who was wounded on the boat
The man was taken in custody, and
pursuit of the others who bad fled
Inland was immediately begun.
