to repeal the embargo on the fourth
day of March next——ayes 73

der difeuffion—its fate is doubtful.”
The bill for the meeting of Csr
grefs on the fourth Monday of May
next has pallid both houfes, a.id h?s
received the tffent of the Prcfidenr.
The bill making appropriations
for completing fortifications has
palled (in the Senate) with a fin all
amendment, and the bill for divi
ding the Indiana territory without
amendment. Nothing clfe material
h** been done thefe two davs.

Gen. Smith of Maryland faid that
as our government was predicated
upon the will of the people, it was
the duty of government to give to
the p:ople every neceffary informa
tion of meafures purfued by it,—
And this had become the more re
ef fiary, not only as newspapers, but

from Liverpool, giving fatisfactory

general orders, the military cf this
city paraded for the purpose of fur
nifhing the quota of militia under
the new requifition for the ferv ke

Artillery were volunteers aifo under

The fefions againjt whom indiff
ments wjre preferred as being concern
ed in tarring and feathering cm En
glijhman of the name of Beaty, for re
viling the American government end
people, have been fentenetd to three
months imprifdnnunt, to pry a fine of
fifty dollars each, and find fcunity
for their good behaviour for one twelve
month— -accept ike Drummer, who
ivas fixed 10 dollars and one month's
confinement. It inconi eft ibly appeared
in court by different tefiimory, that
Beaty did utter the treafcnuAe wads
