crop looks well. Nearly every
farmer is ready to plant corn.
At l-’indlay we found several new
houses just built. Mr. A. C. Bul-

Co-operative Alliance Store, has
an immense stock of goods and
there are many evidences of a large
and lucrative business being done
by this Company. Mr. L S.
(Shelby) Lasseter is dispensing
ijreat quantities of fertilizers to
tiie planters of that section and
says the only trouble is to get
enough to supply the demand.
At Pinehurst the merchants are
smiling and happy, doing a good .
business. We found Judge S. D. {
Thompson on hand ready to hold j
his monthly court but the most of j
the eases were settled or put off by I
consent for settlement. We cir- ;
ciliated among the people amid
found them all hopeful but still |
inclined to try “hard times.”
We heard here that there was’
an emigration agent in this com
munity somewhere but no one
hole large enough for them to
crawl out. He made them all
crawl back in and went to Rich-
wood immediately for blood hounds
to track Bob Burton. About ten
o'clock he got back and the dogs
were put on the track. It was
soon evident that the dogs would
