Since I recently expressed my
purpose to make the race for tax
collector, in the primary, quite a
number of my friends have ur*ed me
to stay in the race for Ordinary.
It,is not my wish to ask the people
for anything which they are not
willing for me to have, hut will ac
cept favors with gratitude. In re
sponse to the solicitation of numbers
of my friends, I now say once for
all time I shall he in the Ordinary’s
race to the finish. If I get enough
votes to elect me shall be sincerely
thankful; if not I shall he thankful
still for what 1 get.
