FOR THE CURE OF
AGUE AND FEVER
OR
CHILLS AND FEVER.
The proprietor of this celebrated medicine justly
claims for it a superiority over all remedies ever offer
ed to the public tor the safe , certain, speedy and per
manent cure of Ague and Fever .or Chills and Fever
whether of short or long standing. He refers to the
entire Western and Southwestern country to bear him
testimony to the truth of the assertion, that in no case
whatever will it fail to cure, if the directions are strict
ly followed and ca ried out. In a great many cases a
single dose has bean sufficient for a curt-, and whole
families have been cured by a single bottle, with a per
fect restoration of the general health. It is, however,
prudent, and in every case more certain to cure, if it3
us > is continued in smaller doges for a week or two af
ter the disease has been checked, more especially in
difficult and long standing cuses. Usually, this medi
cine will not require any aid to keep the bowels in
good order; should the patient, however, require a
cathartic medicine, after having taken three or four
•loses of the Tonic, a single dose of BULL 1 ”} VEGETA
BLE KAM’LY PII,LS will be sufficient.

Mr. Editor — l reafi with no small
! degree of interest an article in your
last paper headed, ‘As it should Be,’ in
which you manifested a willingness to
publish any and all articles calculated
to enhance the interest of Cherokee
Georgia, and especially our immediate
section. In publishing that article,
you have simply given expression in
words to what your actions have prov
en since you issued the first copy of
the Express, viz: that you felt a deep
interest in the prosperity and welfare of
Bartow County, and the State at large;
that you was desirous of bringing into
notice the productiveness of our lands,
the salubrity of our climate, the vast
amount of Mineral ores which lie im
bedded in the bowels of our hills and
mountains, in order to procure capital
sufficient to develop th-.se rich bless
ings which a benign Providence has so
graciously lavished upou us, and I am
happy to be able to say that your la
bor has not been fruitless. Tour
course in conducting a newspaper, has
been consistent, conservative and one
altogether becoming a Christian and a
gentleman, and won for you the respect
and support of all good people. It is
true w e have heard some few express
the opinion that you was not as ready
to denounce the Republican party as j
you ought, that is, you do not villify !
and calumniate them, as do other pa
pers. Now, as I said, it is only a few
who have thus expressed themselves,
and they belong to that class of politi
cians known as extremists, for no man
who does not belong to that class, and
who can discern between black and
white would even insinute that you
was not a democrat from head to foot.
Just continue to do in the future as
you have in the past, and you will receive
the applause aud encouragement of
all staid, stolid, Conservative Demo
crats.
In numerous editorials and commu
nications which, from time to time,
have appeared in your paper, describ
ing our section of country, although
written in glowing terms, they have
not made the picture too bright. We
have got a good country, and good peo
ple inhabit it—industrious, sober, en
ergetic, intelligent and Christian people;
with such a people and such a country
can too much be said in their praise?
We think not; so continue to herald
it to the world. As Ido not desire to
write a lengthy communication, I will
drop this subject.
You can publish this letter if you
wish, for it was at the solicitations of
many warm friends of yours, and a
debt of gratitude that I felt myself
due you, which I could no longer re
frain from expressing that prompted
it. “V.”
