Near Telford, Tenn., a saw mill
operator by the name of James War-
tenherger, found recently $2,500 in
ten-dollar gold pieces in the trunk
of a large white oak tree. The money
is believed to he half of the $5,000
stolen from the house of John Stu
art near Telford, during the oivil
war, of which half was never found.
Train No, 21, of the Central of
Georgia railroad which left Ameri
cas on the afternoon of the 25th for
Columbus was wrecked by a terrific
cyclone near, Ellaville. The train
was made up of au engine, three pas
senger coaches and twelve freight
cars. The entire train was struck
by the cyclone and was blown ten
feet from the track into the ditch.
A large number of passengers were
on hoard and several severely in
jured, but none fatally.
