The Rochester Railway Company
has decided to equip its cars with
fixed individual straps tor the beuefit
of standing passengers. The almost
universal custom is to arrange the
straps on a horn >ntal pole. It is ar

senger cannot monopolize two straps,
that the straps cannot become bundl
ed and that ttic regular distribution
of the straps at fixed intervals tends
to distribute the crowd throughout
the car. In Rochester the straps are
hung about eighteen incites apart,

BETTER THAN THE AVERAGE
Food Value of Ueorgla Wheat Shown
by Analysis.
Bon. O. B. Stevens, Commissioner of
Agriculture.
Dear Sir—Lost year I reported to yon
the analyses of a number of samples of
Georgia wheat, giving their food value
M compared with other American
wheats of the best quality as exhibited
at the World's Columbian Exposition at
Chioaga
As you may remomber, the Georgia
wheats compared very favorably with
these wheats, in foot, the average of the
Georgia wheat analyzed by this depart
ment showed a somewhat better analy
sis than the average of the American
wheats of the best quality exhibited at
Chicago.

Turner that the negroes should be
transported from the United States
to Africa is interesting a subject of
discussion, but it has no practical
