to every citizen of the county snd is

nesses to the interesting history re
lated by him. Tbis contribution to
the county’s history will prove a val
uable record for future reference and
its perusal will be interesting to both
the old and the young.
Sheriff Fordham, of Bainbridge,
brought a negro here last Friday and
delivered him to Sheriff Conoly. The
negro had escaped from Brice’s gang
several days ago and had succeeded
in getting as far as Bainbridge when
he met Sheriff Fordham riding m
wagon along the road and asked him
tor a ride. The sheriff had received
notice of his esoape and a description
of him and recognized the negro at
once. He allowed him to ride bat to
the negro’s surprise would not allow
blm to alight when be arrived in
town. He was sent to Bnoe’s on
Saturday.—Quitman Advertiser.

titioners desire particularly to maintain
grounds, construct buildings, race track
and other things necessary for the pur
pose of conducting fairs, osruivals, horse
racing or anything else therein for the
amusement, entertainment or instruc
tion of the public, and to charge an ad-
mission fee thereto.
8. That said corporation have the
right to buy, sell, lease, encumber pro
perty and to re-lease the same or any of
the privileges which it my have therein.
4. The capital stock is to be fifteen
hundred dollars, divided into shares of
one hundred each, with the privilege of
increasing the same to one thousand
dollars. All of said capital has been
subscribed and twenty per cent, paid in
in cash.
5. The principal office of said corpor
ation will be in Bainbridge, said state
and county.
Wherefore petitioners pray to be made
a body corporate as aforesaid with ail the
rights and privileges allowed by law.
