What Come* After Snlelilet
On the whole. It Is something of a
pity that some of these fellows who cut
their throats, blow out their brains or
swallow poisons In order to rid them
selves of their troubles cannot come
hack, so they might tell othets who are
troubled whether relief lies In that di
rection or not. It Is more than proba
ble that what they then could tell
would deter other reckless men and
women from following in their foot
steps, and for Hint. If for no other rca
son, their return woci.l be welcome

eat of, though starving, till she could
share It with her husband. lie cut it

One little plant of South Africa pro
tecta liself by assuming a curious like
ness to a white lichen that covers tin
rocks. The plant lias sharp pointed
green leaves. These art 1 placed close
together, with their points upward,
aud ou the tip of each leaf Is a little
white, scaly sheath. The resemblance
of tho smooth surface these present to
the lichen growing ou the rocks, be
side which it Is always found. Is so
great that It is uot till you trend on
it that you discover the deception.—
