Auburn is haviug a big Christmas so
far.
We have a good many visitors.
There is no bett.r little town in Geor
gia than Auburn.
On Sunday evening, Dlcomber 17,
about three o’clock, the nice young
couple Mr. J. H. Wood and Miss Ida
Blakey, whom rumor said would bo
married Xmas, drove up to the home of
Minister M. D. Meadow, Auburn, and
ak that there be no delay. Hence in
a few minutes they were rejoicingly re
turning to tell their many friends that
they were no longer Biakey and Wood,
cut instead only Wood. We all wish
orthema pheasant Xmas and happy
year.

Our Prosperous Farmers.
Real the following Ig shows what
a tnuanz-i the cultivation o' the soil is
in Minnesota:
(Special to the Minneapolis Journal.)
FERGUS FALLS. Minn., Dec 5. —
Among the bankruptcy cases filed in the
United States court here during the
oast few days were the ’Allowing: W. S.
Brannon, a Beltrami county farmer
who places hi- liabilities at $ 13,646,79
and his assets at $420, all exempt prop
erty; J. F Smith, of the town of Wes
tern, this county, who places his liabili
ties at $2,768,11, and his assets at $350,
$l5O of which is exempt by law; E. T.
Hutchinson, a lumberman of Rivertou,
Clay county, assets S3OO, in exempt
property; liabilities, $3,184, 67, and 11.
N. Nelson, of Erskine, Polk county. Mr.
Nelson gives his occupation as that of a
milluer, and places his assets at SBOO
and liabilities rt $2,983,11.
We are surprised thattho Vanderbilts
aud Astors and Goulds do not move out
to the Red River valley ar.d go to farm
ing.
And why would any man edit a daily
paper in Minneapolis or St. Paul when
such encouraging figures are before him
as are given above?
Think of that Beltrami man who has
farmed himself into $13,646 of debt and
his only $420 to show for it. And if it
was not for the exemption laws he
would not have three cents.
Let us start a society to encourage
immigration inti this prosperous coun
try!—ln Representative.
MILLIONS GIVEN AWAY.
It is certainly gratifying to the pub
public to know of one concern in thP
land who are not afraid to be generous
to the needy aud suffering. The pro
prietors of Dr. King’s New Discovery
for consumption, conghs and cold, have
given away over ten million trial bot
tles of this great medicine and have the
satisfaction of knowing it has absolute
ly cured thousands ot hopeless cases.
Asthma, Bronchitis, hoarseness, and all
diseases of the throat, chest and lungs
are surely cured by it. Call on Winder
Drug Cos and get atrial bottle free, regn
lar size, 500 and sl. Guaranteed to

Never Let Up.
To count the votes cast by reform
parties and rely upon that alone as an
index to the public mind on questions
of the day oue would naturally suppose
th it all the talk and writings on these
indeas for the post fifteen years was al
most equal to that much energy thrown
away. But if the seeker after the truth
oonld go into the breasts of the people
and see what is really written there,
how different would the conclusion be!
The facts in the case are that full nine
ty nine per cent of the people have been
more or less affected by it. Croppings
of this feeling can be readily deciphered
in every platform that is enunciated,
and even that can not be taken as a
correct indication of the real condition.
The country is full of men who feel
like caged birds. They beat their heads
against the wires of their political cages,
and realize that they are ooralled by
their party platform demands, yet they
have not screwed their courage up to
the point of aligning themselves with
tne party that demands these advanced
ideas The ideas of Socialism, Popu
lism, Single Taxism and all others isms
that contain new ideas, have ingratiated
themselves into the minds and hearts
of the people in a way that, to them,
was almost imperceptible, but the ideas
are there just the same. The orop is
<owu auu, while but lit tie has ripened,
it is ripening more or less, and will
eventually ripen together. When it
does, something will be done; and not
before It is none the less needful that
those who have sown the good seed con
tinue to cultivate tha soil until the
grand fruition cemes. Keeping ever
lastingly at it will surely bring result—

QUESTION ANSWERED.
Yes, August Flower still has the
largest sale of any medicine in the oiv
ilized world. Your mothers’ and grand
mothers’ never thought of using any
thing else for Indigestion or Biliousness.
Doctors were scarce, and they seldom
heard of Appendicitis, Nervous Prostra
tion or Heart failure, etc. They used
August Flower to dean out the system
and stop fermentation of undigested
food, regulate the action of the liver,
stimulate the nervous and organic ac
tion of the system, and that is all they
took when feeling doll and bd with
headaches and other aches. You only
need a few doses of Green’s August
Flower, in liquid form, to make you sat
isfied there is nothing serious the mat.

HrS LIFE WAS SAVED.
Mr. J. E. Lilly, a prominent citizen

Iu telling of it he says: **l was taken
with Typhoid Fever, that ran into
Pneumonia. My lungs became hard
ened. I was so weak I couldn't even
sit up in bod. Nothing helped me. I
expected to soon die of Consumption,
when I heard of Dr. King’s New Dis
covery. One bottle gave great relief.
I continued to use it, and now am well
and strong, I can’t say too much in its
praise. ” This marvellous medicine is
