the cord of life and summoned him to
his reward; therefore be It Resolved;

Machen and community, the band of
sympathy in their bereavement ever
the loss of their late and our former

and lovingly remember,
Second :—That we found in him an
ardent worker, with a heart and hand
of love aud sympathy for the distress
ed and suffering, a friend to both
young and old, ever ready to proclaim
and support the truth and as ready to
denounce and suppress evil wherever
and whenever opportunity and duty
called him.
Third : —That the spiritual develop
meat and warm Christian fellowship
of our churdh at present are large
ly due to his untiring efforts, earnest
zaalaud faith in God during the sev
en years of service as our beloved
pastor.
Fourth -That we feel that not
only our church and community and
the people of Machen, but th® Bap
tist forces of the State at large has
lost in him a mefst ardent worker and
consecrated Christian leader.
Fifth :—That we extend to his con
secrated companion, Sister Pound,
who so earnestly and patiently shared
with him his sorrows and his joys
our heartfelt sympathy in har be
reavement and pray God’s blessings
upon her and the four children left to
her charge, and his guidance for them
in this sad hour.
