The spend-the-day party which
Mrs. R. P. Sasnett gave Friday
was one of the most enjoyable
affairs of the past week.
Mrs. C. E. Carter who has
been visiting her brother, Mr. C.
S. Maddox, returned to her home
in Concord Tuesday.
W. N. Sasnett reached Jackson
Christmas night and will be with
relatives for several days. He
has an important position in
one of the banks of Shellman.
Mr. and Mrs. John Sams enter
tained at an elaborate dinner

The week just closed was one
of unusual interest. Receptions
were given almost every evening
during the week, to say nothing
of the less formal affairs.

Mrs. W. J. Gibson deserves
the blue ribbon for raising large
chickens. Recently she killed
one which weighed nearly nine
pounds.
Miss Lena White is at home
again after several months ab
sence in Virginia. She spent a
an enjoyable Xmas day with
her grandmother, Mrs. Elizabeth
Currie.

home in McDonough, after a few
days stay in our town with rela

The many Jackson friends of
Mrs. Butler, are gratified to hear
of her convalescence from a
recent operation in Atlanta for
appendicitis.

decorated with holiday greens.

visitors in Jackson during the
holidays was Miss Ethel Smith of
Orlando Florida, who was the
guest of Miss Ernestine Demp
sey.
Otis Tollerson of McDonough,
Tom McKibben of Eatonton and
Clinton Woods of Monticello,
were guests of Pitts McKibben
during the holidays.
Mrs. S. T. Moore entertained
at a family reunion dinner last
Thursday. The house was at
tractively decorated in holiday
colors and a delicious course din
ner was served.
Otis Ham entertained at two
tables of trail on last Friday
evening. The rooms were in
bright holiday attire of red and
green, holly, evergreens and
bells.
S. 8., J. M. and W. C. Kinard
and Charlie Kimball spent a de
lightful Xmas in South Georgia
on a camping trip. They enjoy
ed hunting and fishing around
West Lake.
The University of Georgia will
add at least one apt pupil to its
student body, in the person of
Clayton Buchanan, he having
left for that place Wednesday.
T. J. Land formerly of Jack
son, but now of New York, spent
Christmas week with his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Land. He
left Monday for Miami, Florida,
where he will remain during the
winter.
