Lack of Iron in the Blood Means Lack of Appetite, Loss
of Energy, Pale Cheeks, and a General Debili
tated Condition of the Entire System.
ZIRON Will Put Iron Into
Your Blood.
Be physically fit! Guard your health as the most priced possession you
have. When you find yourself losing your grip, becoming irritable, nervous,
weak, anemic, take inventory. See what is wrong!
Your blood probably does not contain sufficient iron. The red corpuscles
may have become diminished, and consequently, your entire system suffers
from insufficient and impoverished blood supply, and the accumulation of
poisonous waste matter.
If you find this to be,the case, you will want a remedy that will supply
iron, which will increase the number of red corpuscles. Try ZIRON, the new
ron Tonic, which contains no alcohol, no habit-forming drugs, and Is rec
ommended as a safe, reliable, tonic remedy for men, -women and children.

Half Your Living
Without Money Cost
We are all at a danger point On
the use of good common sense In our
1918 farm and garden operations de
pends prosperity or our “going broke.”
Even at present high prices no one
can plant all or nearly all cotton, buy
food and grain at present prices from
supply merchant on credit and make
money. Food and grain is higher in
proportion than are present cotton
prices.
It’s a time above all others to play
safe; to produce all possible food,
grain and forage supplies on your own
acres; to cut down the store bill.
A good piece of garden ground,
rightly planted, rightly tended and
kept planted the year round, can be
made to pay nearly half your living. It
will save you more money than you
made on the best three acres of cotton
you ever grew! <.
Hastings’ 1918 Seed Book tells all
about the right kind of a money sav
ing garden and the vegetables to put
in it. It tells about the farm crops as
well and shows you the clear road to
real and regular farm prosperity. It’s

MAY BUY FLOUR
WITHOUT CEREALS
New Ruling For Benefit
of Farmers
CARD SYSTEM NOV USED
NOW POSSIBLE TO OBTAIN
FLOUR WITHOUT PURCHASE
OF SUBSTITUTES BY MAKING
PROPER AFFIDAVIT
Dr. A. M. Soule, federal food ad
ministrator for Georgia, has suspend
ed the order requiring farmers to pur
chase an equal amount of cereals
when buying flour. The following i
wire was received by federal food
administrators of all states from
Herbert Hoover:
To Reduce Consumption
“To all Federal Food Administra
tors: In the matter of farmers hav
ing substitutes on hand: What we
want is to reduce the consumption of
wheat flour to seventy per cent of
normal.
“Retailers will soon find their supply
seventy per cent of normal through
restrictions on wholesalers and mil
lers, therefore I suggest that you in
stitute some device by which both the
farmers and the retailer would give
some definite assurance of not pur
chasing or selling more than this
amount.
“Asa patriotic duty millers and
farmers should do everything they
possibly can to reduce the consump
tion of wheat flour to seventy per
cent of normal.
“(Signed)
“HERBERT C. HOOVER.
Dr. Soule’s plan is to use a card
permit. County food administrators
have received instructions on the use
of the following card permit, which
is ordered made effective immediately:
The Card Permit
’United States Food Administra
tion—Authority for purchase of flour
without wheat substitutes—A produc
er is authorized to purchase . ..'
pounds of wheat l!< ur without the
purchase of wheat flour substitutes,
upo nthe surrender of his card to any
merchant, the producer having satis
factorily shown that he has on hand
as much or more wheat flour substi
tutes as the quantity of flour herein
specified and having agreed to abide
by the rules and regulations of the
United tates Food Administration.
“Good only when countersigned by
the county food administrator or his
agent.”
(Signed) Andrew M. Soule, Feder
al Food Administrator for Georgia.
Countersigned
County Food Administrator for
county.
Agent for County Administrator.
“This card to be delivered by the
retail dealer for whom such dealer
purchases flour, to the merchant mil
ler in order to procure a like quantity
of flour without wheat substitutes.”
In order that there may be the best
possible facility in handling these per
mits and because of the fact that in
some instances .the county food ad
ministator cannot be easily accessible
to all the important points in his coun
ty, Dr. Soule has directed that each
county administrator appoint an agent
to represent him in handling card per
mits to the farmers in each important
trading center in the country and
give the widest possible notice of
such appointments so that the' infor
mation may immediately go to all
parts of his county.
Penalty Evasion or Violation
“Any effort on the part of the far
mer or dealer to evade the spirit of
the permit or any misrepresentation
in obtaining or in the use of the same
i will operate as a forfeiture of the
privilege extended and will cause an
order to be issued preventing further
! purchase of flour by the farmer or
dealer for a period to be determined
by the federal food administration,
in addition to such other penalties as
may he determined.”
The order went into effect Monday
The farmef is permitted under Dr.
Soule’s construction of his ruling and
order, to obtain at one purchase an
amount of from one sack up to one
barrel of flour, on a permit, depend
ing upon the size of his fanflty, the
character of the package the mer
chant has for sale, the size of the
farmer’s family, which is calculated
on a basis of five persons to a family

GOOD BLOOD
Positive—Convincing Proof
Many so-called remedies for anae
mia are only so in name. Their mak
ers are afraid to prove their claims by
telling what their medicines contain.
The only way to be honest with the
people is to let them know what they
are paying for. Here is the Vinol
formula. When the doctor knows
what a medicine contains, it ceases
to be a “patent” medicine.

Any doctor will tell you that the in
gredients of Vinol, as named above,
will enrich the blood and banish anae
mia and create strength. When the
blood is pure and rich and red, the
body is strong and robust.
You can prove this at our expense
because your money will be returned
if Vinol does not improve your health.

Y. M. C. A. HELPS TO LESSEN
PROFANITY IN ARMY CAMP
“Kindly Kwit Kutain” Campaign
Bears Splendid Results
Atlanta, Ga., Feb. 14—“ Kindly
Kwit Kussin.” This is the slogan
spelled in a whimsical fashion, which
the army and navy Y. M. C. A. huts
throughout the southeastern military
department are adopting in a cam
paign to minimize profanity among
our soldiers and sailors.
“To swear like a trooper” or “sail
or” heretofore has been featured as
the phrase in highest praise of the
proficient “profanatic”—but no long
er. The likening is obsolete, for ac
according to religious work director
W. R. Dobyns of Camp Gordon:
“Less cussing is heard in our train
ing camps today than on our city
streets. The clean lives the men are
leading are productive of clean
speech.”
The army and navy Y. M. C. A. is
doing its share to keep thoughts of -
the soldiers clean with its program of
physical and social activities, enter
tainments, educational classes and re
ligious services. Many printed phrases
displayed conspiciously in the Red
Triangle huts serve as constant re
minders to the men of the objection
able character of profanity. One of
these reads:
“If you curse at home, curse here.
We want you to feel at home.”
They get good results as the adver
tising man says. Recently a soldier at
one of the writing benches in a hut
spewed forth a mouthful of oaths
which was overheard by a uniformed
secretary:
“Just put them in a letter to your
mother sometime!” suggested the uni
formed secretary. A few days later
the enlisted main laid a neatly written
letter before the secretary with the
statement:
“That’s to my mother—the first let
ter I've w ritten her in seven yeans.
The hint you gave me the other day
made me realize my duty towards her
—and I've decided to cut out the
cussin’, too.”
