BRILLIANT CHARGE
TO GRAND JURY
Judge Searcy Convenes

CIVIL CASES BEING IKIED
PLEADS FOR LAW ENFORCE
MENT AN DCALLS ON PEOPLE
TO BACK UP COUNTRY—A. M.
WATKINS FOREMAN
The feature of the charge delivered
to the Butts county grand jury Mon-1
day morning by Judge W. E. H.
Searcy, Jr., was the appeal for law en
forcement and a ringing appeal for
every American to do his duty in the
present war. The charge was one of
the best ever delivered in Jackson and
Judge Searcy was warmly compli
mented upon his brilliant effort.
The February adjourned term of
superior court was convened by Judge
Searcy at 9 o’clock. The grand jury
organized by electing Mr. A M. Wat
kins as foreman, Messrs. H. L. Daugh
try and O. E. Smith as clerks.
Mr. M. L. Duke was chosen as bai
liff to the grand jury.
Civil cases were immediately taken
up, following the charge to the grand
jury.
There was rather a small crowd in
town, due to the fact that farmers
are now busy plowing.

TO PALE PEOPLE—
YOUR BLOOD MAY BE
STARVING FOR IRON!
“V .. ■■■■-" i—...... . -■*
If Tour Blood Needs Iron, It Needs ZIRON, the New
Compound of Iron, Which Acts as a Strength
ening Tonic, Enriching the Blood and
Building up the System.
When your blood lacks the proper proportion of red corpuscles to give your
complexion the “rosy hue of health” and your complexion is pale, “pasty-look
ing”, perhaps even greenish-tinged, you are probably of an anemic or chlorotic
nature, and your blood needs Ziron, to bring back the rich, red flush of health.
Ziron, the new compound of iron, the hypophosphites of lime and soda, and
other tonic, strengthening ingredients, has been found of great value in conditions
of simple anemia, chlorosis, debility, nervousness, lack of ambition, loss of appe
tite, dyspepsia, etc. It is a reconstructive tonic, in cases of weakness,
and helps build up the constitution after severe illness.
* Mrs. Mae Belle Perkins, of Adairsville, Ga., writes: “About two months ago
got to feeling badly. My back hurt me badly, and my legs and arms hurt too,
I didn’t have any appetite at ail to eat. About two weeks ago I commenced
taking Ziron, according to directions on the bottle ... By the time I had taken the
medicine for a week, 1 could see it was doing me good. I had been weak and
nervous, and it made me feel stronger, and I’m not a bit nervous now. My back is
all right, and my arms and legs do not ache. And my appetite is good again.
Before 1 started using Ziron I wouldn’t rest at night, I was so tired feeling and
rHit worn out. I have used nearly the whole bctlle and now I sleep fine every
n\su It sure is a fine medicine, and lam glad 1 tried it. ”
Ziron is non-alcoholic, contains no habit-forming drugs, acts gently, has no bad

LOW REUNION RATES FOR
BLUE AND GRAY VETERANS
Announcement Made That Govern
ment Can Furnish Transportation
Washington, March I.—Director
General McAdoo has decided that the
Confederate Veterans shall have spec
ial rates and no interference of trans
portation to their reunion this sum
mer at Tulsa, Okla., fend that th§
Grand Army of the Republic shall
have the same for its meeting at
Portland, Ore.
Because of the congested condition
of the railroads, and also as a war
measure, there was some probability
that transportation facilities and rates
might be denied to these special
trains. The situation has cleared,
however, and is expected to clear fur
ther before the reunions are held, so
Director General McAdoo decided to
day he could promise train facilities
and special rates of 1 cent a mile.
This will be welcome news to the
Veterans of Butts county. It was stat
ed in last week’s issue that no reun
ion would be held this year, but this
definite announcement settles the mat
ter.
SPRING IS NICE, BUT—
Lack of fresh vegetable food and
interrupted changing habits make
these trying weeks for anyone inclin
ed to constipation. Foley Cathartic
Tablets are just the thing for indi
gestion, biliousness, gas on stomach,
furred tongue, headache, or other
condition indicating clogged bowels.
