Nichols, Coffee county, Georgia, respect
j fully shows:
Ist. That they desire for themselves,
their associates, successors and assigns
to become incorporated undir the name
and style of “The Farmers and Mer
chants Ginnery. ”
2nd. The term for which petitioners
ask to be incorporated is twenty (20)
years with the privilege of renewal at
the end of that time.
3rd. The capital stock of the pro
posed corporation is live thousand
! ($5000.00) dollars divided into shares of
one hundred ($100.00) dollars each.
Petitioners however ask the privilege
of increasing said capital stock from
time to time not exceeding in the ag
gregate fifty thousand ($50,000.00) dol
lars.
! 4th. Petitioners show that fifty (50)
i per cent, of the capital stock has al
ready been paid in and that they desire
to begin operation with said amount
paid in, the balance to be paid in as
called for by the directors.

AN ORDINANCE.
Granting to the Postal Telegraph-
Cable Company the tight to construct
a;i 1 maintain its lines of Telegraph
along and upon certain streets and al
leys in the city of Douglas, Ga., with
resolutions in relation thereto.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and
Council of the city of Douglas, Ga., as
follows;
Sec. 1. That the right be and the
same is hereby granted to the Postal
Telegraph-Cable Company, its succes
sors and assigns, to setpo.es, string
wires and cables, operate and maintain
lines of telegraph, including all poles
and guys, cables, wires and fixtures
thereon, from A. B. & A. Railway
along Madison Street to Sycamore
Street, thence along Sycamore Street
to Tanner Hotel.
Sec. 2. Said Company at its own
expense, shall restore all streets, ave
nue and sidewalks pavements, curbings
or gutters thereon, disturbed by it for
the purpose of setting its poles, to a
condition equally as good as before
said poles were laid, and all surplus
dirt due to the setting of said poles
shall be removed.
Sec. 3. The erection of said poles,
stringing of wires and the restoration
of the streets and alleys shall be at all
times subject to the supervision of the
Committee on Streets and Alleys of
said city.
See. 4. The City reserves the right
at its own expense to place upon said
poles at any time such wires as may be
necessary for police and fire alarm pur
pcses without expense to the city for
the use of such poles, provided said
police and fire alarm wires can be so
placed without injury to or interference
with the wires of said company. The
City shall maintain its police and fire
alarm wires in such a manner as not to
interfere with the maintenance and op
eration of the Company’s wires upon
said poles, and the said Company shall
maintain its wires in such a manner as
not to interfere with the - maintenance
and operation of the fire alarm and
police wires on said poles.
See. 5. It shall be unlawful for any
person or persons to interfere or deface
any of said poles, wires, fixtures or
aparatus thereon, or to use said poles
for hitching posts for horses, or for
any purpose whatever other than the
support of electrical wires and aparatus.
Sec. 6. Any person or persons vio
lating any of the provisions of this
ordinance shall, upon conviction thereof,
pay a fine of not less than Five Dollars
($5.00) or more than Twenty-five Dol
lars ($25.00).
See. 7. The said Postal telegraph-
Cable Company shall in every and all
things done by it well and truly comply
with all the terms, conditions and res
trictions of this ordinance, so far as
same are consistent with law.
Sec. 8. The said Postal telegraph
''able Company shall pay the reason
able cost of the printing and publica
tion of this ordinance.
Sec. 9. The acceptance in writing of
this ordinance, duly executed by the
proper officers of the said Postal Tele
graph-Cable Company, and with the
corporate seal of said Company thereto
duly affixed and attested, shall be fded
with the Clerk of said City prior to the
commencement of the construction of
said lino, and said acceptance shall be
attached to this ordinance and recorded
in the book in which the ordinances of
the city are recorded.
Now for the Seashore.
The Seashore Flyer over the
Atlanta, Bimingham & Atlantic
railroad will leave Douglas every
Sunday morning at 6:32 and ar
rive at Brunswick 10:30 a. m.,
connecting with special boat for
St. Simons. Returning, train
will leave Brunswick 7:00 p. m.
arrive at Douglas 10:30. Fare
for the round trip $1.50.

The Camp meeting will soon
