Summer rtf 1874 sheihdd; an attack
by the typhoid fever, of which it
was thought she would never recover,
but she did, though it is believed
not completely, as she has not, been
to healthy ainee, aa before. In.jfnly
or August 1875, rise joiined the
church.of Christ at Cannon, where
she has been a devoted member -ever
since. Here other pleasant and.holy
memories linger, when we. contem¬
plate the interest and delight she
had in attending preaching at this
old ohufoh—a sactod spot to her.
In September 1883, she began to
take a congh, which she never recov
' -cred of. Thi# cough seemed to have
been canned by a cold settling in her
stomache,' and since then with ahe has
been seriously troubled a kind
of dyspepsia, which rendered her
health very uncertain, and caused
her muob suffering. She has been
almost wholely deprived of the bless¬
ing of eating, which she once so much
enjoyed, to the greatest extent Dur¬
ing the summers of 1880-1-2-3, she
again attended 'school conducted by
the writer at the same place where
went before. These experiences
we can never forget Since this
time until her death she speut her
life at home aud visiting her friends,
all ttys time engaged at some worje.
It now seems remarkable to consid¬
er how much business she would do
and bear the afflictions she did.
Veiy Few indeed could have met and
endued.these things with the eour
age aud forbearance she did. Nu¬
merous specimens of her work’ now
remain as a testimony of her indus¬
try and perseverance. While visit¬
ing, her friends she always took pleas¬
ure in doing what ever came to her
hands—always cheerful, pleasant,
mirthful aud ready to consider things
on the 4 bright side, rarely ever being
despondent. "Man; times she has
called in the Uxiok office, with a
smile, and words of cheerand encour
dgepient, conversing on the affairs of
life, and such topics as were current
at the time, and also many times set
ting down and read in glover our ex

this we can but miss her much,
