Curry of the valley were out last
night taking a moonlight drive and
their wagon ran up on the bank of
the road and turned over among the
rocks and some of them were horri
bly mangled about the face. Some
of them were literally covered with
blood, and we are told Price is not
expected to live and that Collier is
in a very serious condition. The
others escaped serious injury- we
arc unable to get the particulars as
we are on the eve of going to press

Gainesville, Ga., rAugust 14—
Judge J. B. Estes, ot the North
er stern circuit, has called a special
term of Hall superior court to try
Taylor Hamilton, Tom Bryson and
Charley Tanner, who were arrested
one week ago today, charged with
lining in the mob which entered the
Hall jail July 14th and shot to
death Si Smith, who Killed Judge
W. B. Bell, of Habersham county,
April 2d last.
Tanner and Bryson have been in
jail since their arrest and Hamil
ton lias been locked up in Atlanta.
Several efforts have been made to
get the men here out of jail on a
writ of habeas corpus, but for some
reason or other hearing was post
poned from time to time and never
came up. Judge Estes returned
Saturday from Dawson superior-
court, and when the question of a
special term was presented to him
he issued an order calling on the
grand jurv to assemble Wednesday
mornig at 10 o’clock to investigate
the charges against the accused. If
true bills are returned court will
immediately convene and the trials
will begin.
Solicitor General \V. A. Charters
will be assisted in the prosecution
bv Judge J, B. Jones, of Toeooa,
and Colonel George P. Erwin, of
ClarXesville Colonel Howard
Thompson lias been retained by
the defense. What the outcome of
of the case will be no one can fore
tell. All parties concerned are
reticent ivnd will not discuss the
case.. The accused stoutly protest
tbeir innocence and say they will
come oat all right.
If true bills are found ugn<nst the
men under arrest and their trials
occur at once great crowds will be
attracted. It promises to be one

on the public road leading from Clayton
to Fine Mountain as marked out by the
commissioners appointed for that pur
pose, commencing near the old Smash-
wagon ford at the old bridge place and
running down the left bank of War wo
man creek, crossing Sarah’s creek,
through the lands of Mrs. Martha By
num and C. C, Ledford, ar.d intersect
ing with said old road near and on the
the east side of the ford on said War-
woman creek, southeast of C. C. Led
ford’s residence, in Warwoman dis
trict, a distance of about one half mil*.

desire to form a railroad corporation pur
suant to; the laws of the Stale ef Georgia.
2nd. - The name of the railroad compa
ny, for which petitioners thus seek incor
poration is to he TheAIissing Link Rail
road Company, the same not being the
name of any existing railway corporation
in the Slate of Georgia
3rd. - The length of said railroad, as
near as can he estimated, will he about one
hundred and fifty miles,
4th.— Said railroad to ho constructed
from a point on the Tennessee State Line,
in Catoosa county, oa. near Chattanooga,
Tennessee, to a point on the South Caro
line. in the county of Rabun, .in the State
of Georgia near Walhalla, in' the State of
South Carolina, ami to lie constructed
through the counties of Catoosa, Whitfield,
Murray, Fannin, Union, Towns and Ra
bun, in said Stut.e of Georgia.
0th. - The amount of the proposed capi
tal stock of said Railroad company, is three
millions of dollars, in shares of twenty five
dollars each, and all of said stock to lie
common stock, of equal value and dignity.
6th. - Petitioners desire to he incoipora-
ted as aforesaid.for, and during the full
term of one hundred and one years.
7th.-The principal office of said pro
posed Corporation will lie ini the to.vn of
Blue llidge, in the county of Fnn
nin, iu said State of Georgia.
8th - Petitioners do intend iu good faith
to go forward wit bout delay to secure sub
scriptions to the capital stock, construct,
equip, maintain and operate said railroad.
(It.h.- Petitioners show that they have
given four consecutive weeks notice of
their intention to apply for a charter, by
publication accordirg to law.
Wherefore they pray to he incorpo
rated under the laws ot this State.
