Mr. Jim Fisher, Jr., son of
Jim Fisher, Sr., was over in
Rabun one daygecently. He holds
a position at Helen, Ga.,
Rev. R, S. Sanders,_well known
Baptist minister here, having
made his. home here for many
years, but left here nearly twenty
years ago, died at fiis home at
ML Airy, Georgia, last Monday.

Gillespie, sister of Brabson and
Amos Gillespie of the Tennesee
valley, Mr. Sanders had many
close personal friens d in this
county, and their sympathy is
with the bereaved family.
There is a living if not a fortune
in every cove in Rabun county, a
proof of which was on exhibit in
the show window of the store of
W.S.Longcn last Monday. Only
a few. years ago Mrs.Bucholz plant
ed a Japanese plum tree and now
it is bearing in profusion. The
plums are sure fine beautie and
excellent in quality.
Mr. Ed Jackson, of Athens,
connected with the Athens
Hardware Co., of that city, was
in Clayton last Saturday. Mr.
Jackson owns a big interest in
this busines s and is one of the
best men that ever traveled
this mountain country and is a
perfect gentleman.
Mr. John Moore, of Towns
county, was at Clayton recently-
on business. John & a native of
Rabun county, a good citizen,
and we are always glad to see
him.
Prof. W.A.Sutton of Camp Dix
ie has kindly cpnseted to make a
three day speaking tour in Rab
un county. He is to sqeak twice

Mr. Wm. Parker, of Atlanta,

owns a handsome summer home
one mile south of Clayton, spent
the. week end at Clayton stopping
at Clayton Hotel. He is expected
to return with his famify about
August 1st, and will occupy 'his
cottage through August and

They tell us that Mrs. T. H.
Bleckley bears the distinction of
being t^he greatest berry canner
on Persimmon. Mrs. Bleckley’
sure believes in thrift;
Mr. Henry Mozeley, of Toccoa
and one of the leading business
men of that seetibn of the State,
was in Clavton on last Saturday.
Henry is a native of this county
and is well and favorable known
here.
Mrs. Katie Colson, of Gaines
ville. Fla., is visiting her father

owing to the weather conditions.

Mrs. Armand’ Maier and son
have returned to Atlanta and will
be gone only for a few days. ,
Among the visitors here are
Mrs. Brooks and Son of Macon,
Mrs. C. C. Kimsey and beautiful
young daughter and little son of
Athene. They are all stopping at
Walhalla Farm.
Wiley was well represented
at Lakemonts barbecue. Among
them were Mrs. (J. B. Burch,
Bartley and Mary H. Burch.
