Mr. Ed Jackson, of Athens,

in Clayton last Saturday. Mr.
Jackson owns a big interest in
this business and is one of the
best men that ever traveled
this mountain country and is a
perfect gentleman.
Mr. John Moore, of Towns
county, was at Clayton recently
on business. .John is a native of
Rabun county, a good citizen,
and we are always glad to see
him.
Prof. W.A.Sutton of Camp Dix

During a thunderstorm on Che

dred dollars and fully covered by

Mr. lYm. Parker, of Atlanta,
president of Beck and Gregg
Hardware Co.; one of biggest,
if not the biggest hardware
companies in the south, who
owns a handsome summer home
one mile south of Clayton, spent
the week end at Clayton stopping
at Clayton Hotel. He is expected
to return with his famify about
August 1st, and will occupy his
cottage through August and
September.
They tell us that Mrs. T. H.
Bleckley bears the distinction of
being the greatest berry canner
on Persimmon. Mrs. Bleckley
sure believes in thrift.
Mr. Henry Mozeley, of Toccoa
and one of the leading business
men of that section of the State,
was in Clavton on last'Saturday.
Henry is a native of this county
and is well Und favorable known
here.
Mrs. Katie Colson, of Gaines
ville, Fla., is visiting her father

Bert Hooper was found dead
in Lake Burton last Wednesday
a week ago. The jury rendered a
verdict that he came to hjs death
by his own hand hy drowning.
Thd body was badly decomposed
and wot an unsightly scene. We
are hoping that a similar oc
currence will never he in out
county again.
The appointment of Attorney
Bynum as assistant county at
torney for Okmulgee county/
to take aare of the Henryetta
court business, is a good one.
Mr. Bynum is a fine man. and
a well equipped lawyer. There
should de no doubt of his success
as a prosecutor, and there is no
doubt of his integrity as a man.
