Found Dead*
The infant of Mr and Mrs S R Murphej
wan found dead in its cradle this morn¬
ing. It has been feeble for some time,
but was thought to be doing well up to
yesterday and its death is as surprising as
it is sudden. The parents have the sjm
pa thy of many friends in their sad be*
reavement.
Church Festival*
The ladies are discussing the propriety
of having a festival at an early date for
the purpose of raising funds to repair the
Methodist church. Nothing definite has
yet been decided upon, bnt we are quite
sure if they determine to have it it will
meet the approval and patronage of oar
citizens. We hope they will arrive at a
decision in ti ae for ns to notifv the pnb*
lie in our next issue.

Personal Intelligence.
Several Hamiltonians had urgent busi¬
ness in Columbus Tuesday and a number
went down on the morning train. As it
happened to be the day of Sells Brothers’
circus they conld not avoid seeing the
attractive street pageant, After witness
iog the street parade some found it pos
Bible to defer business to a more conve*
nient season and went to the show. The
train did not leave the city nntil about six
o’clock, and all who desired to go had
the opportunity.
Sunday was a beautiful day and the

Dr T F Brewster, our honored repre¬

the Journal wishes him abundant success
in his adopted home.

The prohibition contest in Atlanta is
watched with much interest. The regis
tration books show the largest number of
registered -voters in its history. An
other victory for prohibition will be a
great B victory in morality and reform.
