’Accident' occurred at Morven, Brooks
county, Christmas day. The little
Sons of Mr. William Edmonson were
but in tho public road shooting with
bail cartridges, and iuducud their lit
tle cousin Miss Sallie Pike, who was
about ten years old, to go out and
shoot Christmas guns with them.

With his pistol until be thought he had
tired a{( the chambers, when/bringing
the pistol down to a level with her
body,-one unexplodcd cartridge was
tired and sent the ball through her
aide. It may prove fatal. She is the
daughter of Capt. E. H. Pike, one of
the most prominent citizens of the

Tho Masons of Morven lodge cele
brated the natal day of the great
Revelstor with a pablio installation
of her officers for the ensuing year,
an oration and a good Brooks county
dinner. The oration was delivered
by Colonel Sanford T. Kingsberry, of
Valdosta, one of the finest orators in
the state. His painting of St. John
was truly sublime, and will be re-
inembejed. long by the craft and
- Christians. The venerable Norman
Campbell, one of the oldest citizens
and the oldest Mason of Morven dis
trict, was present. Mr. CamplielPs
lather and - mother were natives of
- ijScoUand, Norman was born in
, North Carolina, and came to Broojta
county in 1829. He still lives on
the old homestead. He has been an
aotive -member of the- Methodist
church over fifty years, and a charter

of tho nuts, which netted Mr. Morgan

trees on his farm tn Dooly, which
were planted by his mother many
years ago. They aio no expense or
trouble whatever to the owner, and
