Mrs. Noble* has again been sen

Friday in March. But there is many
a slip between the Eeuteuce and the

A number of our neighbors are
giving the farmers stacks of udvice
about plunting less cotton, for which
they are receiving neither thanks nor
attention.
Elsewhere we publish to-day Mr.
Candler’s letter in fall, that our
readers may carefully read, and form
opinions of their own, taking no bias
from either aide.
No, that llogunavillc postmaster is
not going to resign, and his employ
ers are wasting time waiting for it.
For a negro officeholder to resign
would wreck the record.
The editors of the Ocilla Dispatch
sign themselves “pure blondes.” We
might shut our eyes and curs and be

parity, we have our doubts.

Candidates for office who want to
be in the swim, should plant their
announcements early. Only 43 from
now until the day of nomination, and
it will cost just the same two weeks
before that event comes off. And
just here it might be well enongh to
state that no commnuicationa advo
cating candidates for office will be
published except those pu ely imper
sonal, only at regular advertising
rates.
The thing chiefly regretted by the
Gazette in connection with Mr. Can
dler’* letter ie the harm it will work
to the democracy of the state. The
party has not yet recovered from the
disastrous division of the “old soldier
element" and the so called “young
democracy” of four years ago, and
every true lovei of his party and its
principles will regret that these prej
udices and animosities have agaiu
been uroused, and this time by an
old veteran, from whom the people
hail a right to expect better.

The Gazette makes no secret of the
foot that Mr. Atkinson is not its
choice for governor. Neither is Mr.
Candler. But in these days it is not
the men wo want that we get, but
the men that offer we must chose he-
tween, and as Mr. Atkinson is from
South Georgia, and in every respect
Mr. Candler’s equal, this paper pre
fers the roan nearest home, although
