Judge McDowell was 76 years of
age, and' was horn* Octobor 8th,
1842. He was ■ gallant Confedor-
e soldier and followed the flag of
the Lost Cause through four trying
years. He was true to his comrades
of the Lost Cause and association,
with them was one of the greatest
pleasures of his declining -years.
In January, 1870, he married.
Miss Elizabeth Lancaster, at Geneva,
a Talbot county, who with, ten chil
dren, survives him. The children
