DO IT NOW
dissertation on the timeliness
of certain events.)
If you’ve winged a red headed widow
And she’s found out where you’ve hid, Oh.
And you think it’s time to skid-do
Ami thus avoid a row.
Do not stand upon your going,
But u pair of heels be showing
F/er her wrath be overflowing—
Ho it now.
If an heiress you are "sparking”
And unto you she is harking,
O! then put an end to larking—
To win her make a vow.
If you’d win the little fairy,
Quickly court and quickly marry,
Do not wait, lest plans miscarry—
Do it uow.
If you come in some flue morning
With the sun the east adorning,
And you r wife without dire warning
With a broomstick bents your brow.
If you’ve any sort of reason
For your coming home that season.
Say it quick und say it free, sou—
Do it now.

To the Honorable Mayor and City Couij
Gentlemen: We, your Tax Equal
for the year 1919, beg to report that '
why growers in

product.
Tifton has a warehouse with floor space
180 X 180 feed folly equipped to han
dle the entire topaceo crop of this terri
tory this year. tthree tracks of the three
Biffin lines of railroad touch this ware
house. Its accessibility and Tifton's
central location give better facilities here
than any othe r market in South Georgia
affords.
Four of the largest tobacco concerns:
The Export Tobacco Company, Liggett ft
Myers, R. J. Reynolds Company, and J.
P. Taylor ft Company, will have buyer*
here. Some of these buyer* have already
arrived. This insures close competition
in buying and therefore the highest prices.
By actual count there are 1,200 acres
in tobacco in Tift county. Add to this
300 acres in Colquitt and 300 acreg in
Worth that should find a market here,
together with some other outlying places,
and it is safe to say that well over one
million dollar* worth of tobacco should
come to the Tifton market. The effect of
the distribution of such a big sum of
money can well be imagined.
With this volume of business a good
market here is absolutely assured and

We have assessed all property this year
on a basis of two thirds of its present real
value. In some instances there hah been
no increase over whit the property was
turned in at, while in other instance*
there has been notable increase. This is
due to the fact that we have tried to get
all property in at two-thirds of its value,
and some of it was given in at the right
amount while other property was given in
too low. The entire amount of the in
crease in assessment* this year amount*
to about $400,000, which will give you
about $0,800 additional. We hope that
within a short time the tax rate may be
reduced, but now we realize that the high
4 of living has effected the city just as
the port of New York from overseas.
