At their meeting in Albany Friday, wired
both the Georgia Senators urging action
to secure improvement of the sugar situs*

There was a good attendance «•/ the
grocers and quite a number of subjects
-wee* up tor discussion, the principal topic
beiif the shortage of sugar. The sugar
situation is more serious than it was at
any time during the war; very little su

supply. Ild,th Georgia Senators were
sent urgent telegrams asking them to do
what they could to aid in procuring
'gar for South Georgia.
I Not only did the grocers go on record
as favoring immediate ratification of the
Fence Treaty add the League of Na-

long tclcgrum advising him that the

There are other great questions'before
us today, but the greatest J* the question
of the Christian borne. The men are not
standing up and seeing tlpat their families
F. rve God as they should, but are leaving
the establishment of family altars ind the
raising of their children to be Christians
to their wives.
For a home to be a ChritUu home; all
members of the family most be members
of the church, must attend all services of
the church and come together daily for
family prayer and the redding of the
Bible. There is no real home except a

the church, state and government am'
they nil depend ou it.
There arc three requirements for a
home: A husband, a wife and children.
Mr. Shaw said that our families are en
tirely too small today and he considers
this one of the greatest sinH of the day
The child has two natures, physical and
spiritual and both natures should be de-

After the sermon, Mr. Shaw asked all
who liud family ulturs in their homes to
come and shake liuml.s with him, also all
who would establish them.* Many went

never before seen such a large number of
people who Jiud family altars.
Sis-uking of the children's service Sat

Confessing and Denying Christ..
Mr. Shaw’s subject Sunday night was
'Confessing and Denying Christ." Con
fessing Christ, he said, means living
Christ until the people about you ran see
Christ iu you. Talk lfke a Christian and*
usiaess like a Christian. Leave no
doubt as to what you are.
Denying Christ) means fuilutv to join

God's spirit to control your life and be

If Farmer* Expect to Make a Cotton
Crop Next Year They Must get rid
of Cotton Stalks Now
The weather man's prediction for the
first frost in this territory is November
24th. With constant warm seasons as
have had all during the*fall the boll
weevil has multiplied into euormons num
bers, which means that there will be an
even greater number df boll weevils to go
into winter quarters; this winter than
ever before aud consequently a greater
number to emerge next spring and do
more damage than they did last spring.
As long as the weather stays warm the
weevil continues to (bed ou the green cot
ton stalks, and gets in a nice healthy
dition to sore himself away for the winter.
If the cotton stalks are cut or ripped up
•t once *o that they will die, the food sup
ply to the weevil will be cut off. This
will force him to go Into winter quarters
else die of starvation before
that time, a -poorly fed weevil will not
survive the winter.
Prepare now for next year’s crop. Get
rid of your stalks and insist on your
neighbor getting rid of hi*.
