Sun Brother’s Show Coming.
For the past lew days the
proverbial small boy-yes, and a
large number of the big boys,
too, some of whom have gray
hair in their whiskers-have been
keen observers of the multi*
colored posters which adorn the
bill boards of Carrollton, at •
nouncing the lact, that the
Great “So Different” Shows,
the Sun Brothers’ Greater Pro*
gressive Carnival Exhibitions,
will appear at Carrollton on
April 13 th. While the Sun
Brothers’ Show, does not claim
to be the very largest or the
“biggest show” on earth, it is
concededly, one of the best all
aiound latter day amusement
carnivals traveling in America.
The beauty of the Sun Brothers
entertainment is, the absolute
freshness and cleanliness o<
everything pre;e ited. The
“Main Top” performance is
marked this season for the great
number of new features and
novelties offered, these are ex
ploited one act and one feature
at a time, thus giving the auditors
and patrons [an (opportunity of
seeing and enjoying the whole
programme without any danger
of being afflicted with a case of
“rubbernecktitis. ”
The wild animal display is a
prominent factor with this show
and must be seen to be thorough
ly appreciated. Much pleasant
instructions and profitable know
ledge are to be gained from a
visit to this all embracidg
Zoology Exhibit. More can be
learned in one hour spent with
these living specimen! of subju-
gated ferocity than in months
and years with books. The
trained animal contingent is also
strong this season, and includes
an immensity of trained Menage
and High School Horses, trick
Elepnants, eomic burly bears,
educated lions etc., all of their
exploits are of a modern calibre
and worth seeing.
The sensational free out of
door attractions in the morning
at II130 o’clock, are said to be
really thrilling and of a meri
torious character.

In Memoriam.
Bro, O. W. Nixon was born
October 7, 1872. He died in
Denver, Colorada, Nov. 15th
1909. He joined the Baptist
church at Pleasant Grove and
was baptized by Rev. W. W.
Roop July 27, 1892. He lived a
faithful and conustent member
until his death, as a Christian
his conduct was always such as
would merit the admiration of
all Christian people. He was
always quiet, smooth tempered
and honest and much devoted to
his church and Sunday school.
He was conscious of his ap
proaching dissolution which he
did not seem to dread or fear.
But for the care of his family he
went west to try and regain his
health. It was in this great trial
that his trust in God was so mani

from his father and mother,

clear that he had committed
them and himself into the hands
of God and was ready to submit
to the Lord’s wili. The great
and loving Srvior saw fit in his
infinite wisdom to take his spirit
home. We had hoped that he
would be spared and continue
to sing the gospel story. Just a
short time before he lelt he did
his sweetest singing as chorister
for the Sunday school. He would
sing with such power and feeling
as to make one think that he
was looking beyond when he
would soon sing God’s praises
around the great white throne.
The entire community is bei

stroke falls upon the immediate
family. We mingle our tears
with theirs and ask God for

The Drunkards Home.
Editor Free PressWill you
allow me space iu your paper
for a few hints on the drunkards
home ?
As I see so many young men,
not saying anything about the
older ones, every day slipping
around the corners, and every
dark place to take their drinks
which encourage them to go-
farther on end seek that dark
and downward road, which they
at last find. They wander along
in that sad and serious condition
until at last they reach the pub
lic streets staggering and are
took up by the city officers and
placed under bond to appear at
the court to hear the sentence
passed upon them tor the viola
tion of our laws.
Young men, will you not stop
and think for a moment the con
dition you are placing yourself
in; you can pay this fine with
money, but in the judgment you
will be called befose a- much
greater judge and your record
will be read. Lost forever
cause by that vile driak called
“liquor.”
Remember the blessed Book
teaches us that no drunkard can
enter the kingdom of heaven,
and if you continue on and
on you will fill a drunkards
grave.
My dear readers will you not
stop and turn before it is too
late.
Young men it is aot the des
sire of your mother that you,
should go that way, nor is it th&|
desire of our blessed Savior who
came to earth suffered and died |
for you that -through him you
might have eternal life. Yield
not to temptations, turn them all
down.
So many young men to-day
would be followers of Christ, if it
wasn’t for whiskey. Young man
where are you going? Either to
heaven or hell. They are the
only ways that you can go, you
must be on one or the other;
you can not stand still young
man. Let me say to you if you
continue on this downward road
eternal life will be lost.
When I see so many under
the influence of this vile sin I
think of the song written by Mr.
B. B. Beall; doubtless Mr Beall
could see farther in the future
than those who are on this road.
“In the drunkards home is darkness, for
the light of love has waved,
Gone in all its wisdom brightness, only
shadows have remained;'
Both the present and the future are to sad
heart* filled with gloom,
Since the flower of affection long ago
has ceased to bloom.’’
I would to God that every
young man who is guilty of
carrying a bottle and a deck ot
cards in their pockets would see
their condition and lay them
out and instead ot carrying
then® [carry a testament and
when they meet with a friend
they coaid pass the time in read
ing the Word of God. It would
drive the tears (away from
mothers eyes and bring joy and
sunshine in her heart.
Now iwy dear readers I am
goiDg to- leave it with you if you
are on this downward road
which leads down to the drunk*
ards home r turn to Christ and
be saved-before it is too late. X
