Bonds mean good roads.
Watch for things to get lively
again when “Teddy’’ gets home
and that time is not far oil either.
Halley’s Comet has passed the
earth at last and now we can
sleep soundly again without
dreaming of balls ot fire, etc.
Ex-Governor Hoke Smith has
again declined to run tor Gover
nor. Guess it is up to “Liittle
Joe” and “Plain Dick’’ to fur
nish amusement to the state this
year.
No doubt there are some who
are disappointed because this
old world wasn’t badly crippled
by the caudal appendage of
the sky wanderer.
The South has no abler Rep*
resenative in Congress than the
Honorable William Charles
Adamson, of the 4th District of
Georgia. When he goes after a
thing for his constituents he al
ways gets it, as is shown by the
tact that we are soon to have a
new $50,000 Post Office building.
Bonds for the roads !
Everyone in Carroll County,
who can possibly do so, should
be present at the unveiling of

To the Editor of The Carroll
Free Press ; Sir, It has been a
little more than fortyyears since
I left that County, but would
love to hear from men I esteem
as a brothtr, viz: the members
of the Carroll County Guaids,
who was alterwards Co. F. 19th
Ga. Infantry Volunteers, who
was organized on the 24th day
of April 1861 and Jmarctied out
of Carrolllou on Sunday the 11
day of June 1861, who g went tJ
Big Shanty, Cobb Co. and
drilled until August 6th, when
it was turned over to the. Con.
lederate service, not beiug netd-
ed in the State.
I was in many battles with the
Company, when the war was
over, out of 163 men went into
the Company first to last, 34
men of the Company returned 10
their homes* Many mained and
crippled for life, with but little
objections, I say they were the
best set of men I ever associated
with. I wish to hear from them
that are living. Jim Baskin,
Henry Long and Dock Stamps
lived near town. Publish this
letter and maybe they will write
me. If you publish send me a
copy. I may be up there|one ot
these days. Henry Norman

Without producing a drug habit.
Peruna is not a beverage nor a bitters,
but an honest, straightforward tonia
that increases the appetite and encour
ages digestion.
There is a great demand for tonics
during the depressing heat of summer,
and especially in countries whore hot
weather is very prevalent.
Such a demand is exactly met bp
