“Who for the joy set before him,
endured the cross, despising the
shame, and is set down at thv
right of God.”
The character of Jesus Christ
exhibits a most wonderful display
01 all that can enter into a life
of love and of most touch ng
sympathy as well as perfect
obedience to all that was re- j
quired of the highest intelligen-
cies and in the discharge of all
that devolved upon him in his
mission to this world, however
much of suffering and destitution
it cost him, his unfailing love
md obedience to the Fathers’
will found joy and delight in all
that he did and all that he suffer
ed, as when he fulfilled the pro*
phecy of i»s 48.
“In sacrifices and offering
thnu hast had no pleasure but a
body hast thou prepared me,
and I delight to do thy will,
O Lord, yea thy law is within
my heart, notwithstanding, it
r* quired so much sacrifice and
suffering to carry out the Fath
er’s will in the great plan of
salvation yet he responds, “I de
light to do thy will, O Lord !
here is expressed joy in obedi
ence, which is always true, for
faith 1 ul obedience always bungs
joy, though it may cost much
sacrifice and suffering.

sheep, Luke 15 saying when he
had found it he layeth it on his
shoulder rejoicing, and on bring
ing it back home, he calls his
neighbors and friends together,
saying rejoice with me for I have
found my sheep that was lost,”
this parable he uses to show how
he rejoiceB over one poor sinner
who repents and returns to God,
yes even one child repenting and
returning from sin, gives joy to
Jesus,
3 The presentation of the
saved, to the Father is a chief
joy to our Savior, as he truly will
as we read in Jude 24, “Now
unto him who is able to keep
you from falling, and to present
you faultless before the presence
of his glory with exceeding
joy,” here is expressed the fact
that to present a saved child in
the presence of the Father’s glory
is tc Jesns an exceeding joy,
this is also true in the salvation
of all his saints, each of whom
is a precious trophy of his re
deeming blood and cost him the
pangs of a cruel death on the
cross, but all this will pass in
review before him in the great
coming day and “He shall see
of the travail of his soul andjshall
be satisfied.
The perfect satisfaction of
having done all the will of the
Father, and destroyed the works
of the devil conquered death and
rose in triumph over the grave,
completing all that was needful
in the great plan of salvation,
reaches the climax of joy which
was had in anticipation by our
glorous Redeemer, to whom
alone we may look to as the
author and finisher of our faith
who for the joy that was set be
fore him, endured the cross de
spising the shame, and is set
down at the right hand of the
throne of God neb 12:2 forever
realizing the joy which he saw
set before him in the sublime re
view of the unnumbered millions
of his redeemed, may we all be
in that number and join in the
anthems of praise to himj“whom
angels praise, whose glories
shine through endless days”

night, through the pores and glands of the skin. this is nature s wa y '
ruaintaim-ng the proper temperature .of our systems and preserving the so
less and flexibility of the skin, and so long as the blood is free from impi
ities no trouble will result. When, however, the blood from any eau
becomes infected with humors and acids, these too must be expelled, an
coming in contact with the delicate fibres and tissues with which the S in *
<0 abundantly supplied they produce irritation and inflammation, and
-fleet is shown by Eczema, Acne, Tetter, and skin affections of various kin s..
These impinities and humors get into the blood through a deranged or
inactive condition of the system ; the members whose duty it is to carry o ^
the waste and refuse matter of the body fail to properly perform their wor ,
and this impure, fermenting matter is left in the system to be absorbed by
the blood. The skin is not only affected by poisons generated within the
system, but poisons from without,
such as Poison Oak, Poison Ivy,
Nettle Rash, etc., enter through the
open porea and glands, and so thor
oughly do they become rooted in the
blood that they are ever present,
or return at certain seasons of each
year to torment the sufferer. Salves,
washes, lotions, etc., cannot cure skin
diseases. True, such treatment re
lieves some of the itching and dis
comfort, and aids in keeping the skin
clean, but it does not reach the real
cause, and at best can be only palli
ating and soothing. A thorough
cleansing of the. blood is the only certain cure for skin diseases. S. S. S.,
a gentle acting, safe blood purifier, made entirely of vegetable ingredients
of the forest and field, is the proper treatment. S. S. S. goes down into the
circulation, and neutralizes the acids and humors, thoroughly cleansing and
purifying the blood, and curing skin affections of every kind. It supplies
to the blood the fresh, nutritive qualities necessary to sustain the skin and
all other parts of the body, and rids the blood of any and all poisons. S. S. S.
cures Eczema, Tetter, Acne, Salt Rheum, Poison Oak and Ivy, Nettle Rash,
and all other skin troubles, and cures them permanently by removing every
trace of the cause from the blood. Special book on Skin Diseases and any
medical advice desired furnished free to all who write.
THE SWIFT SPECIFIC CO., ATLANTA,
I have used your S. S. S., spring and fa...
for the past two years, with the result that it
entirely relieved me of a form of Eczema
which my doctor was unable to cure. My
arms, lower limbs, and, in fact, the bigg* 8 *
portion of my whole body was affected, and
when I first began S. S. S. the itching, etc.,
was wtvse, but I continued the remedy with
the res Jt that the dry, itching eruption en
tirely disappeared. I think a great deal of
your medicine, and have recommended it to
others with good results. It is the best blood
medicine made, and I can conscientiously
recommend it for the cure of all blood and
skin affections. CHAS. HORSTMAN.
