Gray’s Leghorns Win
Again al Knoxville
As was noted in this paper last
week Mr. George Gray sent a pair
of his Single Comb White Leghorns
to the Fair at Knoxville, Term., and
today they arrived at home safe and
sound, and as, we predicted, they
brought one oi the prizes with them.
Mr. Gray informs us that his cock
won third prize out of a class of
1,000 birds, which goes to show that
Gray’s Single Comb White Leghorns
have quality as well as beauty.
George, as a chicken crank, we

Rates For Telephone Service.
The rate fight in Carrollton is
over. The Railroad Commission lias
sustained the Council of Carrollton
in the rates fixed by them on April
7, 1910, by fixing for special lines
$3.00 for local exchange service for
business houses and $1.75 for resi
dences. Duplex or party line in the
city will be $2.50 for business and
$1.50 for residence phones. These
are the rates for the present magneto
system and are to be observed until
the company puts in a common
battery central energy system when
they may apply to the Commission
for an advance in rates. These $3.00
and $1.75 rates are the rates the
Company fixed in May 1909.
