Hies no trouble will result. When, however, the blood from any cause
becomes infected with humors and acids, these too must be expelled, and
com in i' in contact with the delicate fibres and tissues with which the skin is
w abundantly supplied they produce irritation and inflammation, and the
effect is shown bv Eczema, Acne, Tetter, and skin affections of various kinds.
These impunities and humors get into the blood through a deranged or
inactive condition of the system ; the members whose duty it is to carry off
the waste and refuse matter of the body fail to properly perform their work,
and this impure, fermenting matter is left in the system to be absorbed by
the blood. The skin is not only affected by poisons generatsd within the
system, but poisons from without,
such as Poison Oak, Poison Ivy,
Nettle Rash, etc., enter through the
open pores and glands, and so thor
oughly do they become rooted in the
blood'that they are ever present,
or return at certain seasons of each
year to torment the sufferer. Salves,
washes, lotions, etc., cannot cure skin
diseases. True, such treatment re
lieves some of the itching and dis
comfort, and aids in keeping the skin
clean, hut it does not reach the real
cause, and at best can be only palli
ating and soothing. A thorough . coo
cleansing of the blood is the only certain cure lor skin diseases. S. h. .S.,
a gentle anting, safe blood purifier, made entirely of vegetable ingredients
of the forest aiid field, is the proper treatment. S. S. S. goes down into the
circulation, and neutralizes the acids and humors, thoroughly cleansing and
purifying the blood, and curing skin affections of every kind. It supplies
to the blood the fresh, nutritive qualities necessary to sustain the skin and
all other parts of the body, and rids the blood of any and all poisons. S. S. S.
cures Eczema, Tetter, Acne, Salt Rheum, Poison Oak and Ivy, Nettle Rash,
and all other skin troubles, and cures them permanently by removing every
trace of the cause from the blood. Special book on Skin Diseases and any
medical advice deaired furnished free to all who write.

I hnve used your S. S. S., spring and (all,
for the pafei two years, with the result that it
entirely relieved me of a for*»i of Eczema
which my doctor was unable to cure. My
Arms, lower limbs, and, in fact, the biggest
portion of my whole body was affected, and
when I first began S. S. S. the itching, etc.,
was wo-se, but I continued the remedy with
the res ..ft that the dry, itching eruption en
tirely disappeared. I think a great deal of
your medicine, and have recommended it to
others with good results. It is the best b'.ood
medicine made, and I can conscientiously
recommend it for the cure of a", blood and
skin affections. CHAS. HOUSTMAN.

me
had with thee
world was.” John 17:45
In our last we studied the sad
heart breaking sorrows of our Sav
ior, because of the neglect and re
jection he suffered while on his
mission of love to this world. In
this we will study the heart desires
of his pure and holy nature, for we
must know that Jesus desired only
those things that were right in the
j sight of God, and for the good of
1 poor lost souls.
First then, He desired the confi
dence of those who were near to
him and insisted that they should
believe in him saying to them, “be
lieve me for the works sake, and if
ye believe not me, believe the
wprks that I do, that ye may know
that the Father is in me and I in
him.” Jesus knew, as we all know,
that no one can succeed in ac
complishing good unless the people
have confidence in them.
2d He also desired the companion
ship of his people, for when the
multitude which had been follow
ing him became offended because Mt Carmel"
he told them some things which
they must do to he saved, they
turned and went away from him
and walked no more with him, and
being grieved he turned and with
sad heart said to his disciples, “will
ye also go away?" John 7:67
3rd He desired so much that his
own disciples should confess him,
for in Matthew 16:15 he asks the
question, “whom do men say that I
am,” and then directly to them he
says "but whom say ye that I am?"
and when they confessed that he
was the son of God, he blessed them
because it really was a revelation to
them, for he said, flesh and blood
hath not revealed it unto thee: but
my Father which is in Heaven.” ’
4th He desired victory over satan
for in John 3:8 he tells us for what
he came, saying, for this purpose
was tlie son of God manifest that
he might destroy the works of the
devil, and in so doing save all who
believe in him, telling us that he
came to seek and to save the lost
being made sin for us who knew no
sin that we might be made the
righteousness of God in him."
And finally speaks his soul’s de
sire expressed in our text, looking to
the glory of Heaven which he had
left when he came to this world to
suffer for sin, and for sinners and
seeing that his great work was fin
ished and grace had triumphed.
The Father glorified in the obedience
of the Son, “He makes his allprevail-
ingplea “Father, glorify thou me with
glory that I had with thee before
the world was” then let us rejoice
that today Jesus is glorified at the
right hand of the Father injHeaven.
Amen.

Owners of IDogs have To
Pay Tax.
It was supposed that at the last
session of the general assembly
something would be done towards
modifying, if not repealing the act
formerly passed by which a tax of
one dollar was levied on all dogs
in the state.
The friends of the original act
and those favoring some kind of
modification of the law could not,
or did not, agree, and the act as
originally passed remains on the
statute books.
This is the section of the act
bearing directly upon the collection
of the tax: “On all dogs the sum of
one dollar per head, such tax to be
enforced by levy and sale as other
taxes are collected, and not to in
terfere with the imposition and col
lection of any municipal taxes on
dogs, whether such dog or dogs be
owned by the tax-payer, his wife
or minor child; provided, that in
the event no purchaser at the sale
of any dog should bid the amount
of said execution, that the levying
officer shall cause said dog to be
killed.”
It is believed there are many
dogs in the county which have not
been returned for taxation. Under
the law, if enforced, these will eithes
have to be paid for, or the animalr
killed.—Marietta Journal.
